Will an AC help the dry....short answer, yes, longer answer provisionally. Personally I let my buds hang for a week right after the chop. This shortens the time required to cure them. after the week hangin they go into an old fridge set as warm as it will go. That usually equates to aboput 50 degrees depending on the temps outside. Inside the fridge I have a small dehumidifier. This completes the drying process in about 2 days. Then it's the jars till burn time. Most of my colas run about 200 grams each wet, so I really think the week hangin unmolested and unrushed is mandatory to evenly pull the moisture out(imo). The smaller lower buds are usually ready for the jars after the week. Colas....no where near, they require the fridge or they will sometimes mold from the inside out if the room they are in is too warm.
As an addendom, when they are hanging, they are right in front of the ac that cools my box, so are kept pretty cool the whole time. All of this probably isn't absolutely neccessay, but it works very well with my space. IE I'm getting double duty out of my cold air resevoir and the results are....heavenly :D

if you only dry your plants for 3 days before you put them in jars, they're gonna mold for sure. Unless they're all popcorn size buds.Even popcorn jars need to be burped.

AC is good lots of air flow and good temp, they take a little longer to dry but its the best for no mould. I dry mine in very cool AC basement in the dark then cure in jars.
You get a really smooth smoke.
Good Luck

Is there any advantages or disadvantages to drying in a room that is A.C.

Yes actually there any tons of advantages. like low humidity so no mold and cooler temps preserves the crystals i you dry in a hot place can take away T.H.C and the taste or if you let light hit it ect. so if i where you just dry and cure in your nice air condictioned house and enjoy the smoke and chill no worries if you can dry inside.
