its not really "important", more a matter of preference.. if the plant is harvested when the soil is fairly dry, it just means that the plant will have less "drying time", this can be good or bad depending on your situation, but its always better to do a slow dry/cure imo

Generally, the plant will take what it needs when it needs it.

Logically the plant will probably dry quicker if you let the soil dry out a little before harvest. I very much doubt it'll affect the quantity of resin. The best thing you can do is add molasses to your water - there seems to be good consensus on its affect on the end resin count and I certainly noticed a difference in mass after using it.

It's your call really. Personally I don't think it'll matter.

Do you think if you dry out a tomato plant's soil before harvesting, you'll get tastier tomatos? Ha.

try a period of darkness before harvest for more trichs, as for water or not... think it depends on your conditions. I purposely watered before my harvest because everything is very dry in the drying room

Adding molasses can be very useful, especially in the last weeks of harvest.. I usually cut the nutes 12 days before watering(6 water days) but i continue to add molasses into the water to increase mass and that sticky, gooey stuff..... but i cut the molasses 4 days before harvest(2water days) to completely flush the plants.. I tried a hravest where i kept adding molasses till the very end but you could definetley tell when you smoked it, the taste lof the bud was a bit faded in comparison to when i flushed the last 4 days with only water... I used a mild dosage too... :joint:
