Dual duct ac

Alright guys it's been a great ride so far. Up until now my dual fans have cooled sufficiently keeping temps 85-75 and our creeping a little on the hot side.

Currently running two 6" inline fans with a dehumidifier contained in the grow area which is 3*6*8.

Hoping to replace the dehumidifier with a dual duct unit that cools/dehumidifier and I can easily hook up to my existing vents. This in turn will cool my entire grow and now I can make a sealed unit and introduce Co2.

There are so many to choose from whtyer, bnd, or active air. Lmk your experiences and what you liked or disliked. Thanks

I have a wynter dual duct ac. Works great as an ac. I thought I was going to replace the dehumidifier with it as well, but not the case. They really don’t dehumidify very well and there is no way to set the level of dehumidification. But they do get rid of the heat from the dehumidifier so I run both.

I think some of my problems stem from the dehumidifier also. High rh is calling it to run more frequently. That added heat is then in turn calling for cooling. It's a never ending cycle. I was hoping at least if the dehumidifier wasn't adding the additional heat most of the issue would correct itself.

An AC will dehumidify as it cools but running the portables in dehumidify mode doesn't do as well as a regular dehumidifier.

You will likely need both an AC and a dehu, especially when the lights are off your dehu will be gold.

You're better off getting a dehumidifier. I can't say enough good things about Quest. Best on the market.They have this model if your worried about heat. https://www.questclimate.com/product/quest-185-cool/ . I'm about to sell my 105 and get this one. They also have ones with ducting flanges.

Quest, Phoenix, Fantech all make good commercial grade dehumidifiers. My fav is Phoenix.

I'm not a fan of the portables. I looked at the others and it looked like quest is the only one with overheads, which is freaking awesome.

Would I be better off running an in window unit and building a psudo lung room for the rear portion of the AC? Seems like even thought it's easier with a dual duct they are mostly inefficient.

And I love your recommendation on a dehumidifier... Looks awesome but no way am I getting a $3k dehumidifier by the wife

I hear ya on Quest prices; they're commercial for sure. Wish they'd take their brand to the home market as it's booming as each state legalizes and they'd surely dominate and rake in the cash. Small and reliable and meant for the purpose being used, not a 'living room' or 'bedroom' usage as most models expect to be used for. Maybe they're just making too much as it is and don't need our money?

Are you using air cooled light?

I used 4 1,000 watt air cooled lights with a medium sized window unit , no dehumidifier when I was in Texas. Temps/humidity was always acceptable . Built a separate lung room like you talked about to disperse heat ac put off and dumped that into attic with inline fan . No smell as long as duck is done correct. Pulling fresh air from outside of grow room. I Built this in my garage.

Humidifiers put so much heat off. Properly sealed room with air cooled lights and a ac unit alone will work wonders.
