dumb noob question male plants?

Ok I have gathered the female is the more desirable plant as it flowers more, greater yeild? However is the male plant smokeable if fully grown. I get that they will pollenate and hinder the female plants in some way. My question is if you seperate the male plants, and grow them dont they produce buds or flowers or something you can roll up and enjoy?

Get the maleplants well away from your girls unless you want seeds.Shit dude read up on the subject first never ever let a male plant any where near a female plant or the grow is doomed.

Ok so to be even more of a noob, whats wrong with some seeds. Seeds are good more plants. I get that they are to seperated. But why is the grow doomed? Wont the female plants still produce flowers. And you didn't answer my question what the male plants are good for?

You can use males for hash ftw!

Can't smoke males. Use to make hash or some people breed them and use the best males to make their seeds.

Some people in tough times have been known to smoke male plants. My brother has done this before and swears it gets him high. I have smoke some leaf from male plants once or twice. I didn't like it and I usually don't get hard up enough to do it anymore. I totally agree with tyke though. Get it away from your females...far away. Just one or 2 flowers opening and spreading pollen is enough to seed an entire crop. My advice is to kill your males immediately once you discover them. Males are certainly not any where near as potent as females and they taste like crap. Males are only good for breeding IMO. I doubt you will be doing any breeding any time soon as it is very complicated. Get rid of 'em and best of luck my friend.

Thanks for the advice fellows. I know how to look for the pollen sacks as opposed to the female hairs. At what poing roughly can sex be determined? How many weeks?

Most strains will start to make preflowers at 4-6 weeks old. This isn't the most accurate way of telling sex so to be sure wait until the plants flower. If growing indoors that will be after starting 12/12.
