DO I KEEP THIS PLANT (stressed plants)

Hi team.

This is my FIRST experience growing photos. Before I only had (very small yields with) autoflowers when i could get them to survive. 1 outdoor, turned out terrible but finished. Fed it all wrong. Then 1 auto in the tent pictured.

But I was growing 4 exodus cheese photoperiod plants from greenhouse seeds as my most recent grow. I was doing 20/4 for veg and experience what looked like extremely happy, vigorous plants. Soil, part coco, part peat, compost plus myccorize and fed organic nutrients w/fabric pots.

Anyway I flip to 12/12 and after id say about 13 days after they stretched a lot, 2 of them looks like straight up males (photos attached) as only made the pollen sacs. I message ghs asking why there are males in feminised packet. They claimed they looked like hermies due to light cycle, agreed to send more seeds. I also think i had it wayy too hot in an 80x 80x x 160cm tent with 2 tube heaters when the weather got hotter. My thermometer read 25-28 celcius most of the time. I don't think this is accurate for the whole tent. Small and medium. leaves started curling downward aggressively.

One of the cheese plants started going into flower during 20/4!! It only grew to be extremely small and it can be seen against the other female that was started at the same time. Both are about 16 days into 12/12.

So yea, I threw out 2 wonderful (looking in the veg stage) plants, ran 20/4 and had temps wayyy too hot with the direct heat the roots and plants were getting from the tube heaters in the small space.

This final, big 'female' looking plant im not sure about... I think I defold it too much right before the stretch... multiple stresses, basically. Essentially... She doesn't look like she's doing... anything...? Only a few small pistols and not much development in ANY way for about 5 days id say.

FINALLY. MY QUESTION. Is this plant gonna be a waste of time having been with 2 hermies, overheated, over defold, was on 20/4, potentially pollinated as the balls on the others developed v quickly.

Is. This. Plant. Going. To. Waste. My. Time.

This was the biggest plant and the only one out of the 4 that didn't, either, turn out male/hermie, or start flowering under 20/4...

So it's my last hope of not having wasted 2 months of leccy and time and love...

I don't want to cut it down if it will continue on fine, but don't want to have it under lights for no reason and not get another grow underway and be left with nothing and no good plants after another month or 2.

As u can see in the pictures....the fact that one tiny plant flowered under 20/4,and only needs another couple of weeks... And the other big female is only starting to show a couple of pistols... It leads me to wonder if this plant's environment has made it experience too much to have a decent result.

I also watched Kyle kushman take off all nodes up to the top. I think i was way out of my depth doing this on my first photo grow... But I hate larf. Ever branch u can see the the one in the tent has had every node taken off apart from the very top. So I am not sure if I put this plant through too much as, as I've said, it's not really growing very quickly.

I'm used to autos, tho. I'm not sure what photos look like at this stage but it seems to be such slow growth rn... So how does she look for being in 12/12 for 16 days? Do I continue on this course?

The 2 plants outside the tent are the 2 I threw out and had plloen sacs. The 2 in the tent, again, started at the first time...

Thanks team. Much love and much high, for all.

Are you sure you didn't throw a auto seed in the mix ? , prob not...but yeah i wouldn't run their genetics again even if they paid me to do so...they can stick there seeds where the sun don't shine as far as I'm concerned, and look elsewhere but anyway.

Where's ur ventilation i see no ducting or fans whatsoever.. no wonder they are getting fried out ?! Both them plants outside the tent are males! And i wouldn't keep them around my house and i wouldn't bothering breeding shit, just being honest, please just buy feminized photo seeds if you continue this venture.

And yes it sounds like you over did it , they can take some defol and what not doing VEG but you gotta be careful in Flower....think you should of just left them alone but ah well bro , don't beat yourself up as everyone makes mistakes and allot do fail first and even second grows and what not... unfortunately, but keeping things simple and providing them what they need to be happy plant's isn't as hard as it may feel...its all about the time effort and knowledge you put into it will depend on how much success you have, and ur plant's actually don't look all that bad!!

No one likes to start all over again with no end result, it has happened to me ...ONCE...heartbreaking, is why you must be on top of your game, no fucking around and no cheat skating the grow like ever !!!..

See how they go and in the mean time perhaps get a new pack of Feminized seeds on the ready for the next run and them males3need to die before they seed the shit out of everything and put pollum all over the house and neighbourhood.

Hi BenGman. Appreciate your input and motivation:joint: .

Those males r caput. Sad. But needed to go into compost. And I know what your mean dude... Those do not look like hermies..?where is there any indication of female genes on those... All male and all pollen but i thought maybe this was possible with feminised seeds with enough stress. I was pumping the heat in and think it was probably more like 32 Celsius when thermometer read 27, going off how it felt when i opened the tent, but I trusted the electronics more haha.

Greenhouse seeds I thought would be a rad brand. Strain hunters was a cool series on youtube and the guys seemed cool. I asked the girl who replied to me if I can get some sort of guarantee that those other seeds in my 10 pack of cheese photos would be female if i went did 18/6 all throughout veg. She didn't comment, only offered 5 seeds from any genetics. She did assert they looked like hermies due to the light cycle, suggestion that those plants would have made buds if under 18/6... but MAN R THOSE SOME BIG POLLEN SACS . I can be faaar more easily convinced they are true makes. I attached photos of the seeds, along with other genetics they sent which I wasn't growing. It doesn't say feminised but has the female sign to the right.

So you wouldn't advise strain hunters, amsterdam? I'll definitely be trying out other brands, but ive 6 seeds left! Maybe i dont bother...

I have passive intake with an exhaust fan, also pictured in this comment.

Their website says use 18/6, so I was willing to take the 'L' with this one and blame myself, despite currently reading 'The Cannabis Grow Bible' by Greg Green, which suggests even 24 hours of light can be recommended for veg, or 20/4. I won't be doing this again in the aim of saving a few days before harvest. Not consistent with nature, me thinks... But Id love to know for definite whether it was my practices that could turn 2 feminised seeds male, and make one autoflower while one looks normal, or if the genetics are to blame from such a renowned company. Questions questions....

And just to get some further input from yourself, BenGman. Is that plant at a normal level of development for 16 days in 12/12 with only a couple of white pistols to show?

Thanks for your time. That was a lot of info...

They are 100% males and did not hermie, looking at the packs they sure look like fem seeds but you just don't get males like that with feminized , its like a 1% chance so I've heard..and I've never ever..EVER...had that happen from the multiple strains I've ran...a hermie will be sneaky and throw balls usually under the flower development and anything more is just a bad genetic plant and/or from real high stress... 24/20/18 hours of light during veg is No problem as long as eveything is dialled in good enough but i might suggest 18/6 ....and 12/12 for flower and keep it that way next time.

And yeah she is pretty much on schedule but would maybe be a little better if you didn't have such issues, and it's strain dependant on how fast she flowers, sometimes they slow at first and finish fast or the opposite, that just all really depends on what ur growing, I'd be absolutely pissed if this happened to me, and from reading this i wouldn't run there stuff again...best to look elsewhere maybe ask some people here

My advice:
Start over. Do some research into breeders and genetics and pick up a pack of seeds that may be stable and resistant to stress factors. Perhaps start with a gelato? Easy growing, good yields, a good beginner strain.
While you’re doing homework start figuring out ways to better dial in your grow space to accommodate veg and flower.
Good Genetics/Environment is 70% of the battle.

What is noticeable is the heavy claw ( leaf ) / dark leaf . That is pointing to over feed.

Other plant looks a bit torched ( probably the way its fed also ) .

Suggest not relying on any youtube / reddit grow info. Stick with basic gardening skills. No clipping / chopping or other nonsense on your plants especially when they are already stressed.

I suggest a simple straightforward grow - keep it healthy / no trickery / even perhaps a change of products used.

I have noticed lots of “ problems “ on this site from growers running bio-bizz. Maybe time to look elsewhere.

Thanks for the advice, peeps. much appreciated :leaf:

Little update... I went to plant the 6 remaining seeds...THERE WAS 2 IN ONE COMPARTMENT...! This is either a random freebie, or some serious lack of care with males and extra seed... Then again, it could have been purposeful and kind. Who knows! I don't think I cbf with them again, tho!
