i read years ago that when in veg take a bottle of pure extract then take a needle an thread and put it through a rubber cork then put the cork in the bottle with some thread left inside then take the needle and put it through the base of the stem cut the needle off leaving the thread in the stem, turn the bottle upside down tape it to a stick so it is higher than were it goes into the stem- then as the plant feeds it will absorb the flavor through the thread into the plant... i never got to try it myself but seeing this thread just reminded me of it if someone tries it before me let me know how it works out. (pure extract like vanilla or strawberry ect.)

I actually just heard of this earlier today, I'm going to try wicking some flavor into a plant as it grows. I started a thread about it asking opinoins, but then a hater followed me to the thread to bitch about the nutes I use and pretty much screwed the discussion over.

Anyway, I think it will work. I'm going to try it with like one branch when I do try it.

I went to a growers festival recently up in Mendocino and was talking to some people at Humbolt Grower and Fox Farms about these flavor ideas. Apparently the way to go is to make a compost tea and feed it to your roots. You can make your own compost piles of whatever (fruit etc..) and make your juice from it or buy a pre-made of the same.

The other thing they do to improve flavor is to do the flush before harvest (just water) and then feed something called Humbolt Co Honey for a week before the cutting. I'm trying the Honey on a plant right now, just to experiment, we'll see how it goes.

I agree with the 'start from the strain you like' though. I found weed I love to smoke and went out and found the seed or clones and started that way. I've got a sweet tooth, so I go for fruity smelling bud. One of my plants stinks when I get near it, one smells really sweet - like berries. :D

the way i seen it was u use pure extract its organic and if it dont give flavor it wont hurt the plant, but back in the day we did'nt have hybrid's but we still had flavored weed. it would be easy to buy a seed of flavored weed but that takes the fun out of trying something new or new to you

Looks cool to me. I think it's a great idea to try stuff like that, see what happens.

If it weren't for people like you we'd still be living in caves.

Hahaha...didn't even bother looking at any other comments XD +Rep on this truthful comment .... so high....*bong rip* *head rush*

i herd if you put strawberry extract or pinapple juice in a eye droper and drop it on the buds like rain they will absorb the taste idk if it works though anyone eer here of this?

I haven't tried it yet. I've got a clone in 12/12 (just started it yesterday) Once it gets in gear and is growing, maybe I'll do that one.

Make sure you sample it before you give it away.

I"m just doing a small project incase if screws things up. If it works well I'll go large next year with it.

I've been tossing around ideas about the best way to pull this off. I'm afraid if I try to use a wick as origionally planned that my peppermint oil will evaporate more than wick into the plant.

Tonight I just put 1 drop of peppermint oil at the base of the plant. I watered about 2 hours ago, so the plant should be really into taking up water mode right now.

i cant see oil evaporating that much but make sure that the peppermint oil is from a plant not man's hands like a petro based oil with some smelly shit in it good luck let me know how it goes

I'm allergic to petro based scented products.

Why would anyone even try to fake peppermint oil, you can grow peppermint in the yard
