Dumpster Diving!

I know it's a bit low rent but I've found some really cool shit. You wouldn't believe what big chain stores throw away. One of my most lucrative things I find is Plexiglass, huge sheets of it that are used for displays in the stores. Once they're done with it they just leave it out back. Technically it's stealing, fuck it thoigh.. Literally as much of the shit as I can carry, and that shit is expensive online.

So if any of you do dumpster dive, what's the coolest shit you've found?

P.S. Now you know where the username came from. lol

back in the day, the apartment complex i lived in was pretty good pickings at the end of the week when they did evictions and put peoples shit in the dumpsters. glad i moved on from that neighborhood and life style. it was $50 a week rent in east dallas to give you an idea of the people living there.

That's exactly when my friends and I use to dumpster dive. On occasion you'd get some shady fuck working for the store and hide stuff in the dumpster to collect later. We got there first. A top of the line Pioneer car stereo, and another blaupunkt one, both brand new and in the box. Amongst many other things.

It may be considered trampy to dumpster dive, I really have found some really useful and cool stuff though. My small grow cab that I'm currently finishing was found in a skip.

i don't do this myself (not because i'm above it, it just never occurs to me) but my friend's dad pulls some pretty cool furniature made from all kinds of wood. he uses the wood to hand craft pretty awesome wooden pipes. besides, some people's idea of trash is really shocking. some people only throw shit away because they don't have the time to organize a garage sale.

I fell you Man, it ain't for everyone. You'd be surprized by what some people throw away. We live in a disposable society.

How often do you see repair stores these days? Things are so fucking cheap, it's cheaper to just buy a new DVD player than to get it repaired.

I'm no crazy Eco activist, just imagine how much shit we dump in to the landfills though. Things are moving so fast technology wise, can we handle the waste though? I try and re-use as much stuff as I can.

When I was like 13 me and a couple friends found a bunch of bike's in this dumpster behind a factory that closed down.

I took this 3 wheel bike.It was actually real nice and pretty much new.It had these real nice gold spoke rims.
I spray painted that shit with this dark purple color changing spray paint and I hooked my big ass boombox up to the back of it and everything lol. That thing would bump,it had 2 10"subs and a few smaller speakers in it and it all could run on 8 D batteries.

I miss that thing.I had it for about 3 months until it got stolen out front of a fucking 7-11.

Sweet Dude! Sorry that it got jacked. Maybe you could relive your youth and get another.

I've found so many bikes over the years. Can you believe that people would throw away a whole bike just because it had a buckled wheel? I fixed that shit, serviced it and and sold it on for a tidy profit. I've did this a lot in my early teens as a way to make extra money.

Given the state of the economy I've started dumpster diving, looking for thrown away objects that I, or someone else can re-use. I don't give a shit what people think of me for doing so. I'm earning extra cash, getting cool shit, and keeping stuff out of the landfill. win win in my eyes
