Duration of Light

I have been looking for a good table or place which would show me how long i should leave lights on my babies from seeds to smoke. how many hours per how tall or how many weeks. does anyone know?
 
for vegetative you can use 24/0 or 18/6
when you want to start flowering (when is up to you)
switch to 12/12

can you switch to 18/6?

or if you start with one can you not switch?

like for example what i would like to do is start with 24/0 for like 2 weeks or so. then can i switch to 18/6 , or would it put to much stress on the plant?

i suppose you can switch though i wouldn't recommend it - why would you want to do that?
 
Well im going to start my seeds this weekend. so by monday i will plant them in the cups... and ill be gone till next friday. so from monday 18th to the friday 22nd i will be gone... so i would like to keep light on them all time for that first week, unless it would be better not to light for first week
 
they need light from the time you see green. might want to just put them on 18/6 and leave them that way until you switch to 12/12.
