DWC buckets vs tubs/storage containers

Hi I'm planning my first grow system ever and I'll be posting in on that within 1-2 weeks.

I am still debating whether to use 3-5 gallon buckets or Rubbermaid containers. Pros and cons of each?

Help guys?

i would start with rubber maids for most of veg then move to black buckets the RM containers are good but if your trying to grown big plants they wont all fit in one RM the roots will join if one has a problem they will all get it IMO there good but not for long term plant life no longer then 5-6 weeks the buckets are tedious if you have a few but well worth it in the end

i have done both ways they both work great if you want to grow a nice size plant or plants i would go with the buckets if you dont mind them a little smaller rm is fine it all really has to do with you and your op. best advice i can give is try both ways and see what system YOU prefer but they are both great ways to grow DWC.

i am using buckets for the first time.
pros:
able to control nutrients individually for each plant
bigger plants like mentioned above

cons:
pain in the ass to do water changes
uses more nutrients and PH adjuster
have to adjust the pH on each bucket individually (if using drops, this is a major pain in the ass) need a digi
if you have to cool or warm the water you need to do it individually for each bucket.

if i had the room, i would do recirculating DWC
