Why a res? With so little pots stand alone will be fine

I used 'uniseals' and 2" pvc to connect the buckets. You can use those, or bulkheads (aquarium supply). Most recommend at least 2" pipes between containers, but that is up for debate.

your absolutely right lol . i will just stay with the 2 dwc and thats it . iv been learning so much on changing water and adding nutes to water needed.. like if the plant drank 1 gallon out of 4 gallons that i would just put 1/4 of nutes needed with 1 gallon of water to top it off then after about 10 days .. change out the whole bucket and add the right amount of nutes. ill just buy 5 gallon waters from the store and add the nutes to that befor add it to buckets. will this work? what does the call mag do for the plants do i add it along with my nutes 1/4 strength each time? alot of people keep saying to buy cal mag and h202 for the roots. any sugestions

I did rdwc for my first hydro try, switched to ebb and flow and prefer that for simplicity. Don't be afraid od hydro, just keep an eye on the pH and use an enzyme to prevent slime in your res. I'm sticking with ebb and flow for the foreseeable future, fits my style and easier for me that soil or dwc. Plus, I fuckin hate bugs.

if i grow soil im going to have to go out and buy a bunch more shit that i dont want to lol.. i bought 2 dwc buckets with everything included so fk it ill stick with dwc and do everything i can to make it work.. i guess ill invest in a ppm reader ph reader ( i have test kit with little bottle) even tho i wouldnt know what to do if ppm is high or low. .. womp im starting to not feel so good about this grow . dwc seemed simple but i cant grasp my head around the nutrients and ppms.

i plan on just changing water out every 10 days and add right amount of nutrients each time. if water gets low within the days ill add phd water until time to change out.. so on this matter but its the nutes im having hard time with..
Dude your gonna buy so much shit you dont need. I did dwc my first grows a long tome ago and had decent results with the help of a friend that knew his shit. After that i tried on my own.. and after a failed attempt i switched to soil. Then i went back to dwc just because I like how quick i can veg my plants and my yields are a little higher. But theres definatley advantages too both. Im sure youve done your reading. You can alwayz do some soil grows. And when you feel more confident jump in those buckets and scrog it out. Im rambling cuz im high but basically if I could go back in time. I could have saved a lot of time and money on crap.

This is my first DWC run, I'm basically still a newb. This is 5 weeks and 3 days in to flower, Nirvana Ice. As long as you read and you're good at babysitting these things, it's pretty simple. I've completely switched from soil to DWC and it APPEARS to give me much better results. I am happy.

Have you guys heard of clearing up root rot with AACT (compost teas). Seems weird introducing all those organic beneficials into your synthetic environment.

hey guys thanks for all the feedback ! so i got my seeds .. dropped them in the rockwool after they germed i posted pics of the set up.. so / rockwools most seed is in i have 2 120 watt flourescent grow lights there warm and i plan on switching to the 400 watt mh soon for flower.. i have the lights on for 20 hours on 4 off for now. ok feel free to help out with any pointers and suggestions.

questions are, whats the best way for me to get the rockwool into the 5 inch net pot? will this size be good enough or will it have to be placed in bigger rw. im confused on the transferring to separate 5 gall dwc bucket.

also is it okay to just be using water for now. when should i start nutes

see my problem is understanding nutes lol fml.. im at a roadblock with nutes. man i was ganna use the flora series because its simple and only comes with three things you know . i plan on changing the water in my dwc every 10 days and just add nutrients that states on this schedule --http://generalhydroponics.com/site/gh/docs/feeding_sched/GH-FloraSeries-REC-Charts.pdf so lets say i fill up 4 gallons each time with ph good water, then add 4 servings of 1/4 strength nutes for the first 2 weeks of flowering. every 10 days changing water completely and then staying at 50% servings because i read a few places that this schedule i linked are too much nutes to use.. start at 1/4 and stay at 1/5 after idk about the veg tho.. will this work? also.. if within the 10 days the water goes down allot i will add ph good water until time to replace water again.
you will most likely have to topup the buckets more often than 10 days and u will need to see what the plants are using quite regular
