Ya, I dont know? It says its a synthetic, but contains plant, marine and mineral extracts :confused:

I try to keep it simple myself. Full on sterile res with just the 3 part GH Flora Series throughout and Humboldt Nutrients "Ginormous" 0-18-16 for P-K boost in mid-late flower. Tap water, pH down and 3% H2o2. A little cal/mag if I use my LED's.
What kind of light are you using?

7 bulb t5 fixture for veg and 2 600w hps for flower. And your plants do just fine? How much do you feed them in each stage, maybe I should just keep it simple and not add all the other additives.

You need to get the water temp in you res lower between 17c - 21c max.
Are you using cannazym?

Cannazym is a bacteria (good bacteria) which helps to stop bad bacteria forming through dead roots, high water temps, algae, etc.
This is a must if you can't create a steady temperature.
I use it and I'm that confident in using it I don't check my roots regular, only when I do a res change.

My grow shop recommended this to me, with no mention of hydro guard.
So decided to go with it.
The other thing is, is there light getting into your res?
I always cut a circle of thin plastic off a polly pocket folder (use black folder) then cut up to the middle and then cut another hole out of it about 1 1/2 inch.
You can then easily get this around the plant and it will give you more assurance that it's not a light problem.

Cannazym has a ratio of 25ml per 10ltrs.
I don't know about hydroguard, but to me what you are putting in doesn't seem enough.

I had issues with h202 because there's a lotta fungus and bugs and humidity and heat where i am. Also I dont run a chiller. I started using a mix of hydroguard and Great White. The Great White is a buncha different bacteria and fungi. I put those in and feed them with this BigFoot stuff. All pretty cheap on eBay. The bennies made my water brown and the roots gunked up with black and brown shit, but then they exploded in growth, as did the plant above. I'm sold. Not sure if it's the hydroguard or the great white, or the combo, but my roots are diggin it. No problems since, and ive got heat and bugs everywhere lol

That’s what happened with the hydroguard. I put it in before I went to bed the next morning I checked and their was a bunch of brown shit which scared the shit outta me because I thought root rot so I went back to H2o2. I checked this morning seems to be a lot more root and plant growth and the one I was concerned about looks a lot healthier. Not sure what it was that did that but it works. I’m scared to use just hydroguard lol

I also just changed my buckets and I’m trying the Lucas formula, kinda weird to me that you only need to nutrients and not the other additives. Anyone have pics of their plants on Lucas formula?

Dont be scared by the dirty water. I actually get worried when my water gets too clear now lol those bennies will break down nutrients so you dont have to fluctuate ph to get them all (I'll include a pic so you know ilwhat i mean about nutes bein available at different pH's). It also kicks out any other bacteria or fungus, which means you can have higher temps with less problems. Plus my roots seriously doubled in like 2 days. You should look up the Heisenberg Tea. Thats what I'm doing now. Dont have much to compare it to, except that its way better than running sterile and constantly fighting root rot, fungus, and other bacteria.

I think you got that backwards my friend.
When you run a sterile res, theres no bacteria to balance or battle. You can also run higher temps with a sterile res too. Sterile res = white healthy roots and a higher headroom for res temps.

Every day is a battle when you run a sterile rez lol every day shit wants in those buckets. The bennies fight them for me, so instead of fighting i just feed the bennies once a week. And since theyre fighting other organisms for me, the temps can get higher without risk. I know roots are supposed to be white lol mine are bright white the day after feeding when the foam goes down.
What i meant about the clear water is that my bennies make the water dark, so when it gets clear it means it's time to feed them and/or add more. I just felt like it was more work keepin it sterile. Plus these things really pump your roots up. If you consider 3 things, its hard not to side with bennies.
1. They break down the nutes and make them more available at different ph levels.
2. They fight off other organisms for you and maintain a stronghold on your rootzones.
3. They help your roots grow bigger and faster than theyd grow without bennies.

I'm still new but after struggling with pyrethrum or whatever its called and brown roots and then switching to this tea shit, i'm sold. To each his own though. This area is pretty hard to keep anything sterile in lol plus i dont use a box so theres no sealed environment. Just a room

What is it that you arent agreeing with exactly? I dont think ive said anything different than you, you just misread my stuff about clear water. I broke it down for ya bud *shrug* like i said, to each his own. This way works better for me than keepin a sterile rez. Less work and better results. Not sayin it's the same for everyone, there are many factors. Just sayin I'd never go back to sterile rez'es after seein the difference first hand
