I have a couple of those floating around, literally. The one in my fish tank broke, though it does produce finer bubble action.

those lil suction cups dont work for shit. before i mounted mine to the bottom of my res i had to tie fishing weights on my curtains to hold them down.

Are these air curtains legit? Who thinks they work better then a stone?
No idea if they work bettter, but I doubt it. Sure they produce finer bubbles, but they are spread out over such a distance that it would be difficult to centre under the root ball. I'm going with the limewood. I have a big block already cut and drilled and ready to go.

Limewood Airstones
Limewood is an extremely durable wood, composed of very fine and straight porous grain. Each airstone is specially cut to maximize the number of minuscule air bubbles that are continuously being released into the water. The rugged, screw-in nipple ensures long life under high-pressure conditions created by powerful pumps.

im not real sure what you mean by they are hard to center under the root ball, but if you look in the pic i posted a few posts up youll see how ive got mine set. the curtain in the tub is right under the curtain laying on top of the tub. i cut it to 20" and that 1 curtain blows bubbles across the center line of 3 plants root balls.

and the limewood air stones do work good, but they stop up too. like the blue air stones they can be cleaned out with alil compressed air i used 120(psi). i used those along time ago. also you will have to keep a close eye on your PH for a while (a few weeks at least). they made my PH jump up really fast for a while. i cant remember where i heard it (maybe cdot or og) but it helps if you will simmer them for a few hours before useing them, or at least presoak them for a few days in PHed water.

Right, the rigid tube would be easy to use, I was thinking of my difficulty with getting one of the flexible tubes to stay in place. Your setup looks good.

Glad to hear from someone with experience using the limewood. So you prefer the curtain for maintenance and inert materials? I like the idea of having only one airline per row. How does the bubble production compare?

ive tried just about everything i could think of to use to make more/better bubbles. really the best ive found are those cheapo walmart air curtains. they are simple, work really good, cheap, and easy to maintain. and thats what DWCs are really all about right? lol
