I know I have to come up with something even better for mine. It's getting too big for my space. But I did more lst last night, so will see how it looks today when the lights come on. Post more pics of your grow when you get a chance. If you come up with a good lst tie down solution, let me know lol.

no digging in the dirt. lets try this method of LST
D18 001.jpgD18 002.jpgD18 003.jpg

the stalk on this one is strong and thick... I'm surprised to it's toughness at day 18, but this is my first ever.

Hey Easy, lookin good since last time i poked in...

So how many ladies did you end up with again?

I was too afraid to "jinx" my grow by doing anything cuz i have no experience [mine's a first grow too with 4 plants staggered a week between, oldest 4-5 weeks youngest about 2...one died :( ]

so no LST, topping or anything...Keep growin bro!

You are going well Easy! I am still trying to decide if i will go with cmh or cfls. I cant find what plan is cheapiest. One bulb or a lot of cfls? :P My box, is like yours.
And if i choose cfls, the problem is what wattage to use. What do you think for:

MIDDLE 4x25w (2x6500K and 2x2700K 1400Lm each) OR?? 4x40w (2x6500K and 2x2700K 2400Lm each) <all time from start to harvest
and
AROUND 4x25w (6500K for veg, change with 2700K for flower)

My head is going to explode..

We got some over watering here and maybe vinegar in the water issue too on trying to balance. will never use vinegar again. ony a purchased acid from my hydro stop. anyhow, it's still trucking along with the lst getting some great side coverage and growth.

I just put in the two side lights 23W 6,500K. Sorry the video quality is weak but you clearly see the over watering issue with probably too much vinegar. You also see my self lst induced breed bag seed. starting to grow some pretty green leaves, but the stem is smaller than a toothpick at the dirt level... then gets bigger up near the leaves. Hence the self lst. i'll watch the little thing.

No nsex determined as of yet. Still waiting for 12/12 photoperiod. probably this weekend I'll switch over to the new photoperiod at the rate this thing is growing.

Right now I have 2 @ 23W 6,500 on each top side (left and right) with one 23W 2,700 on each side for a total of three lamps on the left and right side (6 total). I added two 23W 6,500 on each side, around the middle of my box.

Total lamps in use:

6 @ 23W 6,500
2 @ 23W 2,700

184W in my box.

My goal is 100W per plant (at least) when they hit the bloom stage. gradual increase until then.

Instead of using tie downs I went with weighted hooks using bolts as weights. I don't want to puncture any roots and I want the ability to take out my pots and shift them to some different lighting occasionally. The smart pots don't allow for bracing tie downs so this is the bets solution I could think of. it seems to be effective enough .

don't trim off those leaves. see if they heal. try and pick up some ph up or down. stuff shold be easier and safer than the cider stuff.

I would just let the plant suck the life out of those few bad leaves and shed them naturally. Most people I read about use the apple cider vinegar and recommend against the distilled vinegar. Don't know the reasoning though.

Yes, I am going to stick to the chemical compounds instead of the apple cider vinegars. It's healthy regardless, so I am not really worries. the drying of the leaves is no longer spreading.

I got just the one running (fem) and it now has 4 x 23w(6500) and 5 x 23w (2700)

been running 12/12 since germ and it is goin well (as far as I know lol) it has nice greenage to it with excellent underbranching and has about 9-10 nodes on 10-12". So, we'll see how she goes, wanted to increase red spectrum cfls as I heard cfl's have airy/noncompact buds...so i figured the more light the better...but I'm just growin for me right now anyway...further down the road i'll go a lil crazy but for now just simple and learnin

Any recent pics?

I may end up flowering this weekend. I am in week 3+ anniversary day is Tuesday. Coming up on 4 weeks next Tuesday. I am shooting for 9" tall before I flower. I am also wanting to clone it. I bought some hormone and a scalpel at my garden store. Even though I don't know the sex, I want to practice the art. Since I have a vegetable garden I can allow the clone to root in that area without anyone suspecting anything with all the other vegetable stuff I have going. So if this turns out to be female, then double bonus. I'll have another plant just a few weeks behind it.

The little one is funny. it looks like the stem, which is laying in the dirt, may root and the plant will grow up form there. Can't stop watching that one. maybe end of being the best pot I ever smoked.
