I had a thousand watt solis tek and a six hundred watt in the same room . When I vacuum I would have to unplug something or the electric went off and I'd have to reset the breaker . Well I go in this morning and no power to the room and reseting the breaker isn't doing anything please help . I'm in a illegal state so I need to be descreat .
Thanks to all replys!

Thats too many amps for one 15 amp breaker.

Nothing works in the room? If its just one ballast it might have blown an internal fuse. You also might need a new breaker, they can only trip so many times before they need replaced.

You need to figure out which breakers run each room(s). If you have to, run an extension cord from another room that is ran off another breaker to one of your ballast. This will give you enough amps to run the other ballast off another breaker.

Thanks. It's my third floor in my house nothing works in the room. I should of been asked about the issue when it was going off when I would plug my vacuum in . I reset the main breaker and it's still not working so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated?

can you run a extension lead of another breaker for one of the lights
Well yea but there's no electric working in that room now . I'm trying to figure out how to get it working then I'll have to run extention cord I guess. Thanks for reply

Then you need to replace your breaker. Run cords from anywhere in the house if you have to. Try and keep it as short as you can though especially the cord used for the 1000 watt.

So I can run the 1000 watt to an extension cord? I have one main breaker to my house it has everything connected to it . Everything works but the room so how would I replace it? Sorry I don't know anything about electric but I need to fix this or it's going to look fishy as shit to someone that comes to do it

you could put a Tumble dryer in the the room (uses 2-4kw) you could say I only ran it and it blow the breaker every so often

DirtyMcCurdy why does cable length make a diffence ?

I was going to blame the vacuum . I was wondering the same thing about the length of the cord. I have a extension cord that says 75c and 60 c on it can I use this for the 1000 watt? Thanks for the replys .

somewhere on extension cord it should tell you the amps

amps x the main power (volts) = watt you can run from the lead
best to keep under 70% of the max watts

sounds like the 75c and 60 c is talking about max room temps for the lead

I don't see a amp on it . My 1000 watt gets hot as shit do you think there's something wrong with it ?

yes don't use it as its a high fire risk or turn the 600w off and see if the lead cools down but you still need to know the leads max watts so its safe to run, check the fuse if there one in the plug

I have never owned a solis tek ballast but my 1000 watt magnetic ballast I used to run also got hotter than shit. A 1000 watt ballast on 120 volts will pull 9-10 amps, maybe a little more on startup. The further your cord gets the more draw it will have and some digital ballast have problems when you try running them off super long extension cords, so just an fyi. You won't need a high dollar cord but you don't want to use the cheapest one you can find either. If you go buy one they will have different gauge cords and the amps recommended to be pulled through them. Basically you just need the next step up from the cheapest gauge. The lower the gauge, the thicker the wire, the better the cord.

Okay thanks . I have a regular size cord it's long though. I'm just going to run my six for now. So I need to replace the breaker for the room?

The one in your fuse box. They basically just snap in and out, Its not hard. Youtube it but be careful.Turn off the main power coming in before you do anything, obviously.

my old magnetic ballast used to get so hot it would feel like a radiator on full power but my 600w lumatek digital ballast only gets warm
