I wouldn't take them if he gave them to me lol. Electric sky aren't good lights honestly.

Once saw a diy upgrade done on some youtube channel. Can't find a link now says "not found". Guess guy got cancelled.

Quite a few growers have posted on youtube with electric skys. Guess it depends on how much your friend wants for them. Also contact the green sunshine company and ask if possible to upgrade leds to new more efficient version.

What ES leds got going for them is a very interesting and potent flower spectrum, sacrificing a bit on output. I've dabbled with this kind of ldss, phosphored reds but I still don't have a definite opinion but I would say they arent necessarily shit.
But I do suspect that they aren't the easiest light to grow with: I've seen some struggle, especially when they don't have great environmental controls or in veg.

Love them! Started with one es180 and one hlg 100v2 in a 3x3, the plants under the hlg would stretch to be under the es180. That first trial I hit 1.9 grams per watt and 45 grams per sq ft. They work

I am now on the end of a 4x4 grow with two es180’s just killing it. And only 360 watts. That’s what blows me away. Spectrum is king.
