So the land lord knocked on my door the other day wanting his electrician to get down to where my dryer 240 outlet is. My land lord owns all 7 new homes in my area. The electrician has to get into all the homes. I told the land lord to make an appointment because I had to leave and I was in a hurry. I talked to the land lord later on and said whats the problem with the 240. I have a dryer running and it works great. I dont really have a dryer but I do have all 4 1000 watt hps lights running off of that outlet. I didnt want to let the land lord or the electrician in because that is where all my ducting and electrical go through the wall. Anyways, the land lord said that to be up to code and prevent fire hazard there has to be a second ground. Now, from my electrical experiance i know that a 240 outlet has a black and red wire. Theses are the lead wires (hot wires) and a white wire (neutral wire). This is all my outlet has is a red, black, and white, but i think he is saying I should also have a green. There is no green wire period so how would I make that work...(this is suppose to be the second ground or ground). I told the land lord my dad was a contractor and took care of it. I think he bought it. Please look at the pics below of my outlet and let me know what the land lord/electrician is talking about and how I can take care of it myself. Thanks.
