Enough room for lighting?

Hey all, I am trying to decide weather to buy a 400W HPS or 2-3 130W CFL's. I have the money for the HPS but im not sure if my grow room is big enough to hold a HPS... i don't want to spend an extra 100$ or so and realise it wont fit.. or it will be too hot.
So my questions are.. How much hotter would a 400W hps get compared to 3 130W CFL.
Also do i even have enough room to hang a HPS kit with only 1100cm height, 650x850 W/L

you don't have room for the 400 it's not high enough or wide enough 40% of the light would be reflected light. IMHO go with the 130's your yield will be about the same if you grow a carpet.

You could run 20 cfl's and they wouldn't generate the heat an HPS does. Also you have a variety of different options with HPS, look up "Cool Tubes". You definitely have the space but the heat an HPS will generate may make using one cost prohibitive since you will likely need an inline blower to circulate air. To assess the light output you will need look up the lumen input and use the inverse square law. Plants need anywhere between 25-40 watts per square foor (or meters?) I forget but you can google it easy enough. Anyways take the lumen output given by the light specs then use this equation.

Lumens x 1/Distance from plant ^2
