Enzymes in DWC

Hi, first time I'm posting I usually find an answer in existing threads!
I recently switched to RDWC first grow got chronic root problems and ended up using a lot of H202, managed to keep it at bay but small root mass and stunted growth led to poor yield.
bleached everything, started again, 1st week or 2 looked fine, nice and green, white roots, then noticed this brown slime/snot on the air rings again. seemed to appear once i put in the cannazym. A bit of research I discovered its possibly cyanobacteria, likes oxygen, doesnt need light.
See thread

so I've brewed up some of this tea and everything seems good, plants very healthy, totally lush green leaves, roots zone big, but some discolouring and a bit of dead matter appearing floating in the water. Still new white soots appearing but i want to stay on top of this. Just switched to 12/12.

Here's some photos but it's hard to tell in the light

Question is:
I want to re introduce the enzymes to help deal with any dead organic, but I'm concerned it may set off and feed the slime again! Any advice gratefully received, shall I put it in? or just grow without?

Alien RDWC
I'm using chiller, temps between 18-20c
Canna A + B
Canna Riz
Microbe tea
water change once a week, flushing out with root rot X (new alien product its a stabilised acid disinfectant) before that was using Flora Kleen

do you think you've found the source of your bad bacteria?

i've never used the tea but both good bacteria (Southern Ag) and a sterile res (pool shock) worked for me.

if it were me, with a chiller, i'd go the sterile route personally.

there is a product called flying skulls Z7 that is supposed to help get rid of the "slime" that you are talking about too. not sure if it's better or worse than cannazyme

Hydroguard saved my newb dwc mess. I had slime and foam and dead roots everywhere. I actually took it outside and sprayed the roots with a hose and used my hands to clean all the slime off. It recovered in week or so. In, flower of course.

Use something like hydroguard in non sterile rez. I didn't have chiller and it kept the roots nice once they regrew.

thanks for your reply, no idea where the bad bacteria is coming from, but the good bacteria seems to have got rid of it........

Z7 looks like enzymes so yes maybe cannazyme would do a similar job, its in the cupboard I think a lot of these products are more or less the same....

yeah maybe sterile route if i keep getting issues, do you notice any difference in quality or yield??

The tea i brew has hydroguard in it, along with root compound RZO, worm castings and molasses to breed the good bacteria. Means using a lot less of the hydroguard its like gold dust in the UK. I blame brexit probably comes in via europe supplier.
When i used it alone, the slime appeared

Even with a chiller you feel your having problems?

I assume you are using r/o water?

I personally will tell anybody willing to listen that sterile is just way easier.

ahhhhhh........not using RO

even with chiller yes, seems ok for now, just dont want to back slide

so an update, I decided to put 400ml of cannazyme into my 280ltr system last night and this morning i can see the first signs of slime on the air rings, its not much, but I'm sure it wasnt there before.
I'm not sure if its a problem or not, would you get a build up like this anyway from the good bacteria?
I'll probably drain and rinse tonight then reintroduce the bennies in fresh water, but I'm very tempted to run a sterile res next time, this is far too much messing around.

Hi buddy can I just ask how effective was the root rot x in dealing with your slime unfortunately I have the same issue?

Ok so it's going to be a long answer, but I think after a year I've cracked it
These are the measures I took, you may not need all of them but it's what worked for me.
Reverse osmosis water followed by a UV steriliser. My water was really poor quality.
Bought a bigger water chiller so the temps sit between 18-19 degs centigrade.
Running a sterile res using pythoff which is basically chloramine, you could use something else like pool shock.
I don't use any organics in the Res, just base a and b and calmag.
I was using fulvic acid and sil but every time I did a res change roots died back. I also halved pythoff and now plants and roots are thriving.
Change water every week.
I'm I'm week 4 veg and they look like this:IMG_20211122_171058_654.jpgIMG_20211122_171118_483.jpg

Hope this helps let me know and any questions happy to answer it's been a real struggle so happy to help.

And in reply to how I got on with the crop in this thread, they went in the bin and I started again. They were so stunted even though I pulled them through I decided to put in some healthier babies.
These are quite small for 5 weeks, but I was still trying to get it right and they also have been topped. Gonna veg for 5 before flip
