Someone is growing a single seed and doesn`t need green thumb advice or feeding (maybe) has the set up cooling and venting but is stupid when it comes to the lighting.

They just wanna know if this bulb is enough for the single plants entire grow ?

Thanks in advance.020.JPG

I wanna add the plant will be kept under three feet, bushed, trimmed and well cared for. Not going for tree, just a little one.

I looked and looked around this forum and still can`t tell if I need one later or both all the time or is it too much.

I`m an outdoor guy and indoor winter plant is new to me. No matter where I put it this light is for one plant only and I wont let it get bigger than three ft. +/-. I`ll move it away as needed but just want to know if it is enough for the whole growing of her.

400wAtts is plenty for one plant.
I'm just not too familiar w that exact bulb.
I'm pretty new myself and I bought into all the hype, payed 120 bux for a eye hortilux but am curious myself if any hps bulb will do.

Yeah that generic Phillips hps bulb is fine for what you want........just make sure your using the proper ballast for it(ansi code)

Have fun

Thank you guys,...I am gonna have a licensed electrician friend hook up that power box thingy. He thinks I should go smaller with more, than put this thing in a shed. It`s made for a ballpark or lighting pole outside.

I wont bore you all with a slow grow details, but will show the results later. I just wanna see if I can do it. It looks easy but you know what they say about that.

Oh........on second thought, maybe you should ask your parents before lighting up that "thingy" in their shed ;-)

I personally wouldn't go "smaller with more" what is he referring to? Cfls flouros? Hps will get ya nice dense nugs, if anything you could always go bigger!

PSUAGRO, There`s a good chance I`m older than your parents. I built the shed, I`m a licensed GC, that`s how I know where to get the right electricians for peanuts. He`s not concerned about fire or venting, I passed with A+ on that. He`s concerned about the electric company knowing my shed uses more power than my house. Drawing attention from a place I can`t see and most aren`t aware of. It`s on it own conductor from the panel board. I don`t understand how this light uses more power than 4, 120 watt standard lamp lights but it does. That`s not my field.

That was my argument, this thing puts real light on target and ambient light around. If I run into unseen troubles, I`ll down grade it. With a rack I can select how much I use. But I like the big bulb better.

Your house uses less than 500w total!?? You have no refrigeration or hvac? Lol

Anyways , yes the initial amp draw/fire up(ignition) on an hid bulb is high but will stabilize as the salt arc (hps) settles......should be around 440w with a good magnetic ballast

Good luck

Yea man you should have no trouble w that light I've got a 600 in a 3x4x7 bathroom shower and My brother runs a 1000watt in his bathroom. Just make sure to have a way to circulate fresh air into the shed and depending on climate you may need heater or some way to keep the shed cool.
Good luck w your grow man. Utilize all the knowledge here. Rollitup has def been a life saver for me
