Why Donald Trump is to blame for rise in support of political violence | The Warning w Steve Schmidt

22,962 views Oct 25, 2023 The Warning
Steve Schmidt reacts to a very disturbing survey released by Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI) and the Brookings Institution showing that nearly a quarter of Americans believe they may need to resort to political violence in order to save the country. Steve lays out why, ultimately, there is one person to blame for this finding: Donald Trump.

Cool...we got an election denying creationist that thinks Jesus rode around on dinosaurs in one of our most important seats of government.

I'm going back to looking at fleeing this shithole.

Let's see what the magat does as Trump goes down in flames, starting with disqualification over the next couple of months. Trump owns him and the magats, he is going down and one of the few levers he has is his base of morons and miscreants. Will this asshole lead a J6 style charge of republican house members up the courthouse steps in DC this spring for Trump? If not, he is a RINO! Trump will become like a big bag of shit on fire that will want to hug the GOP as tightly as possible before exploding! Will he support Trump as a write in candidate on the primary ballot if the SCOTUS disqualifies Trump? If not, he is a RINO! Good luck riding the tiger and don't expect any help from democrats except to save the country from stupidity.

Once Trump is disqualified under the 14th in December (I figure he will be and so do most experts), it might set precedents and could be applied to other magats in civil cases concerning J6 and its aftermath.

Please stop using X links. Can't read any more unless logged in and I ain't doing that. If I want that kind of junk I'll go to Tribel but it's pretty useless too.

:peace:
I sign in using google and don't post there, it is still good for news, but you need to curate the links you post because there is a lot of Russian and other propaganda and bots posting there. Whatever gave Elon the idea that people want to converse with a propaganda bot spamming the threads. I might not agree with the human moderation here at times, but at least its human, and it beats robots and no moderation, which could become legally problematic if extremists take over a site. Places like the Parlor attract a certain "type" and drive most normal folks away and sometimes descend into threats to users, doxing and could turn into an incitement or organizing platform for domestic terrorism if left to "run wild". The FBI would come calling one day with a warrant at least!

Steve Schmidt explains why Mike Johnson's extreme beliefs make him a danger to America | The Warning

Steve Schmidt reacts to the Republicans electing Louisiana Congressman Mike Johnson the new Speaker of the House of Representatives. Steve breaks down why Johnson's fanatical beliefs on gay marriage, LGBTQ+ rights, climate change, abortion, and perhaps most of all, being an election denier, make him a danger to millions of American citizens.

What is he gonna do for Donald? Donald is headed for big trouble over the next couple of months and could be in jail and disqualified. There is a price for Donald's support and this guy is beholding to evangelicals who back Israel. What will he say when Trump is disqualified and wants support for a write in campaign? How about charging up the courthouse steps in DC during Donald's trial? This guy might be about to ride the tiger and the ride should be rough right from the beginning. How about impeaching Chutkan, Donald will demand it before its over!

Abortion will be a big issue in 24 and this guy is the GOP poster child on the issue?

Charlie Sykes: This is now a full MAGA House

Louisiana Republican Mike Johnson was elected Speaker of the House on Wednesday. Rep. Johnson played a key role in former President Trump’s efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election, and The Bulwark's Charlie Sykes says in the election of Johnson, Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., and a handful of other far-right House GOP members got their way.

Whatever but I get no extra info from being on X without logging in and I don't even want to know what's going on there because of the useless POS it's become since Muck took it over. Tribel has swung totally to the other side of the scale so I rarely drop in there either.

Most social media should just be shut down IMO as it's useless for conveying any reality on almost every subject.

I think this might end like Lord of the Rings when Frodo tossed the ring of power into the cauldron and the orcs and trolls suddenly lost direction and purpose, went mad and started slaying each other in confusion and rage while scattering in all directions. Likewise, when Trump is disqualified and jailed while tightly muzzled there and finally tried and convicted, the GOP will factionalize as the various extremists go their different ways, the neo nazi's and fascist, the religious lunatics, the hawks, the conservatives might all diverge. Trump was the glue that holds much of the modern GOP base/mob together and that glue will disappear when he goes away. If he is jailed, he will likely be talking through glass to visitors on a phone and it will be recorded, except for legal counsel. That will discourage political visits with demands from Trump to do the impossible, GET ME OUTTA HERE!

I have mixed feelings about social media and like propaganda on cable TV it can do a lot of damage, it depends on who manages the company and algorithm, Elon proved that! Governments can help with regulations to tamp down extremism, but we are stuck with the future and social media will be part of it for good or bad. Every technology down to a stick can be used for good or evil, it all depends on the intentions behind the actions and that depends on the values of the people making the calls and owning the platforms. Whatever sells and gets and attracts eyeballs has moral, ethical, financial and legal limits. It's more than about politics, it's about the mental and emotional health of the population and youth in particular, who could be the canary in the coal mine for social media.
