-Exodus- HomeGrown's first stealth PC grow.

Well this is my first full grow. I grew one in my first PC case I made but she ended up being a dwarf plant due to me planting the seed to low. (This was around 2 years ago).
Since, I've built a new pc box and have been trying to keep it stealth. Inside is a beautiful Exodus Cheese mother. She's growing wonderfully and I'm going to update the thread to the end result.(Yield)
I'm pretty much wingin' this whole grow. I know some information about growing, but I wouldn't consider myself a pro. This is my FIRST FULL GROW. but I'm still hoping for some decent results.

As far as some background information..

  • GreenHouse Exodus Cheese seed. (Feminized)
  • MiracleGrow mix of soils.
  • Organics Trinity Nutrients. (Used improperly, for I don't know the measurements I just got an amount..)
  • 12/1.5 Light Schedule for veg. 12/12 Light Schedule for flowering.

(pictures will either show the beginning of the week, end, or over the course of the week.)

Week 1:

Well I was finally excited to start my grow. This week 1 is after my baby first sprouted, seeing that beautiful little leaf set made me excited to watch her grow.

Week 2:

More growth. As you can see I attempted to start LST here which caused me a problem later down the line. (Plant stem being too close to the dirt.)
(ADVICE: Start LST when the plant is ready, not by 2 weeks or 3. It's best to watch the plant and see when she is best ready to begin LST. All phenos may differ.)

Week 3:

Some more growth, I let her breathe from the LST for a bit and re-LST'd. I'm thinking she's a bit more sativa dominant.

Week 4:

More growth. As you can see I've put my red strings back on the plant for the LST. You can also see the extra leaves coming from the side of the stem.

Week 5:

The stem leaves are coming in wonderfully and the top canopy is starting to look more full. The growth is becoming more rapid now as she enters flowering. This strain is autoflowering so even though I kept her on 12/1.5 until the first day of my 6th week, she still was slowly proceeding to enter flower.

Week 6:

At this point I've turned her to 12/12 and Exodus is only starting to flower more and more. The smell is becoming stronger and I can see the pistols starting to come out of the leaves. Growth is still rapid, making sure to keep her fed. The top canopy is more full as the leaves coming up from the stem are growing more towards the light. (In the picture it is a fresh LST)

Beautiful pictures of a beautiful plant.
Can we get a digo f your set-up? With any luck I'll have a PC grow underway soon enough, looking forward to results :)

Week 7:

Well this is the start of week 7. 2nd week into flowering. She's growing great and I can see the tops forming. I moved the fan leaves to the side so the main focus of the light is the center of my plant where the tops are forming. I'm having to water her more frequently as well. Growth is still fast paced and smell is getting stronger. I'm going to need a method on how to completely neutralize the odor. Here's some pics..

I was a bit upset to realize I couldn't edit my original post to add onto the grow log.. but I'll continue to post updates.

Lookin' good. Keep up the updates. Does the shape of your pot matter to the plant much? I'm going to be using a similar shape longer and thinner. What sort of differences does that make to the plant.

Well I'm not exactly sure but I do know that the roots start where the plant is and typically wanna go down. So you wanna water in the pot where the roots should go first..

For instance; if you plant your seed in the middle of your pot for the first bit of your plant you of course are gonna water her directly. but as time goes on start watering outside in.. like, start where you want your roots to grow.

( W <- M -> W )

A small diagram..

( ) = Pot
W = Water Place
<- -> = Root growth
M = Your precious baby.

Like my plant I placed on the right side of the pot, so at first I watered her directly but over time began to fully water the left side first so the roots know water is over there and grow that direction.
You still want to make sure and water the whole pot completely. But the water can evaporate in the soil, so starting the water away from the plant makes the roots grow that way instead of just down.. (Which is more efficient for these pot styles and will overall increase growth/yield.)

I hope you understand what I'm trying to explain. bongsmilie:mrgreen:

Nah, totally get it, and for my grow I did the same thing. I had 1 plant in the corner of a square box and was watering across as it got bigger. I just wondered if there was anything specific to note with odd pots. Good to know that others think like I do (how many members does RIU have now? lol)

Anyway, where the pics at brotha? :eyesmoke:

Good to know, once my seeds are off the ground I'll be growin' along side you guys. I'll keep my eye out for your PC grow.
Keep bongsmilieing

Really nooby question but what is that reflective silver stuff inside your grow box? I'm constructing a grow box at the moment, and I figured it'd be good to get some.

hey man nice grow going. I was thinking of doing this but using either a 12" long pot or a 24" pot and just starting on the left side and LSTing over to the right. How much do you think this will help as far as yield goes?

I just took a glue gun and cut up a walmart windshield reflector and glued it in! $10 bucks total.

Exactly what others have recommend. You can use anything really that actually reflects light. Very easy to test.. On the door panel of my pc box I got this reflective material from a box of a present I got for christmas. Reflects light very well, I think better then my windshield reflector and I seen improvement on my plant...

speaking of..

This is the mid point of my 7th week and everyday she grows more rich.

About your question, you can technically perfect LST straight across producing a larger yield of the same size nugs. But these nugs could be the size of your palm or bigger...

Scrog, another method using a screen like material will produce the same results. Both methods work relatively the same so it's your option. I like LST. :blsmoke:

These methods aren't required to grow, of course but for your first grow in a smaller space and you want to maximize your yield, just try it.
If you just let her grow vertically without any low stress training she'll produce what is known as "christmas tree" nug which is one big nug similar to a christmas tree in appearance.

Most of all though if it's your first grow I'd just say, PATIENCE. Really man, it's a virtue when growing. Read you plant and don't always bother her, just let her grow. You don't wanna ruin you first grow in any way... Trust me.:|
