Sweet as... Good to have you along for the ride.
== = === = == = === = == = === = == = ===

Also going to get 2 more seeds on the go tomorrow in case this one grows balls. I've got a feeling that its going to be a female. of the around 7 plants i've grown to flower in the past, zero were male....still yet to see one in real life.

UPDATE: with PICs

Sorry it took me a while to update....had a hectic few days. Was so munted that i slept for 15 hours last night...longest sleep of my life. Anyways, on to the grow.

As you can see, its been re-potted. It went pretty smoothly. The rootball was pretty good, filling the entire pot and on the verge of being rootbound if not slightly already.
Its a small thing but i didnt get it into the center of the new pot and its on a bit of an angle and it annoys me...because the gravel is quite heavy i wanted to minimize picking it up again as it would cause unneeded damage. Ill get over it lol. Anyways, tis now on 12/12 flower mode. Hopefully I'll get lucky and it will show its sex within the week. can I feed it now or should i wait a couple of days for it to overcome the stress of the re-potting?

Absolutley lovin' the smell. So strong and fruity. Its easily the smelliest plant (at this stage of growth) that i've grown. Wish they would invent smell-o-vision...of how fun it would be cruisin the forums checking out all the grows and gettin to smell the sweet scent of ladies in bloom.

As you can see from the pics the yellowing is continuing, now onto the second set of leaves to appear...after seeing the roots im hoping it was because of the small pot. If its not then i dont know what to do. need some help on this point i think.

You can see the tallboy conversion i did. Came out alright i reckon. Not 100% light proof yet but thats coming, and Im still yet to paint the inside white. Im using a 70mm, 37 CFM PC fan for ventilation and a passive intake. Seems to be working a charm so far. Heat barely rose at all.

And made myself a couple of el-cheapo reflectors from aluminium cans...they seem to work great. Came across a really great tutorial here: https://www.rollitup.org/do-yourself/232568-beercan-cfl-reflectors-cheap-easy.html ...made 2 so far, but will make 2 more once i drink a couple more cans. Anyone using CFL's without a reflector should look at that tutorial thread.

What we think?

wow bro, thats nice, you've done a great job. What made you think of the whole gravel thing?
Cheers me friend.

Dunno what made me think of it...just thought that it would drain really well and allow a lot of air to the roots and therefor eliminate the chance of over watering. Seems to be workin coz i've been watering 3 times a day (waaaay to much under normal circumstances). Will now be once or twice a day i think since i added more soil during the repot. So yea, just wanted to make it as simple as possible and eliminate a couple of dicey points.

Enjoy!

What is the ratio of gravel to soil that you use? Did you plant it in some sort of rooter first? i know the seed coulda have been just thrown into gravel...right?

I'm doing a bit of a experimental grow myself right now. using a few 1 gallon candy jars. Got the net pot sitting on a cut out on each with a small hole drilled for airstone tube. Going pretty well i'd say, a lil worried about running out of root space but we shall see. Moby Dick, Pakistan Ryder, Cream Caramel and a few bag seeds.

First it was 90% gravel and 10% sandy soil...now after repot its more around 25% soil so hopefully there will be enough soil to hold onto some vital flowering nutes.
Also, No rooter. Just germinated in a wet paper towel (popped in like 16 hrs) and put in straight into the pot. Just made hole in gravel and put seed in and didnt cover. let it grow and show its first leaves and then filled in with another cm or so of gravel. thought it would be better then making it push its head through the gravel.

Your grow sounds interesting...I'll have to check it out if you've got a journal goin.

Does anyone want to take a stab at what I might get at harvest if all continues to go well? Remember Im gonna add 1 or 2 more 20w CFLs within the fortnight...to total 148-168watts actual watts.
I know it will be a small plant but would 1/2oz be setting my sights too high? This is my first real grow with CFL's an Im not sure how its going to all unfold.
What do you reckon?

Oh an the last set of leaves to appear at the top of the plant (you can clearly see them in the last pics i posted) are 9 fingered. :bigjoint:

in regards to the number of fingers on each fan leaf it went: 1 -> 3 -> 5 -> 5 -> 7 -> 9 -> ??...........all my plants in the past grew quite differently (like 1->3->3->5->5->7->7->7), never this many fingers this quickly. Would that be down to the strain? Is having more fingers more of a sativa trait?

And I germinated some Argyreia Nervosa aka Hawaiian Baby Woodrose...Im sure some of you know about these LSA containing seeds. Not necessarily growing it to get anything but Im just enjoying the growing and caring for a plant thing. Esp one with such cool qualities.

Anyways, Im off.... Enjoy!

I'm no pro but judging from the 1000s of pix/threads I saw on this forum, I'm betting around 1oz for your plant/setup if well LSTed, cured and nuted :)

...but it's just a "best case scenario" guess my friend :) good user "maturesmoker" made around an oz in not so different conditions, check out his grows :blsmoke:
as for your plant/concepts looking very good, keep it up! peace :peace:

Cool grow bro. I have a question will the 48W that does 3000k do any affect? I thought that for CFL, you need atleast 5500-6500k is good for vegetation. Similar to a grow that I wanted to do although my medium would of just been mulch.

Wow nice getto stealth setup you got there, and as for the gravel, amazing never imagined you can grow in such thing , i've seen a grow some girl had here on riu in just perlite and it turned out really well .

I'm on my first grow, using low power cfl's, lot's of them, check it out if you got some spare time.

Peace !

ITS A FEMALE!!!! Im 90% sure of it....spotted something yesterday that looked suspiciously like a female preflower but without the hair as it was just sprouting. Can see a tiny hair (i think) starting to come out today. Will confirm tomorrow and TRY to can get a decent pic.

Thanks! But I doubt im going to do any LST this time around. Might let this one go au-natural. Got a couple more seeds popping as we speak...I'll try LSTing on of those I think.

Cheers bud (no pun intended lol) Well I used the 2700k's and the 3000k from the start, no 55-6500k as it was only a short veg an I's trying to keep it small n squat. As far as the 3000k compared to 2700k, its all pretty much the same. As K is color temperature the 3000k still has the majority of light in the red spectrum...so its fine for flowering. Dont get me wrong 2700 would be better but there isn't a lot of difference.

Thanks SSmokeeennn...love the encouragement. I've been surprised by the results so far too. Is that the grow in your sig? If so, then yea, I'll check it out for sure.

Just a quick update:

notice that fly in the first shot... took me so damn long the get rid of that thing. lol. It just wouldnt leave the grow cab.

Anyways as you can see the yellowing has continued...and growth has slowed a lil. Gave it more nutes yesterday after last batch did nothing. But, alas, the yellowing continues and no nute burn. Hmmm... Thinking nute lockout due to off PH. Gonna have to invest in a ph tester me thinks.

Other than that all seems well. CONFIRMED female...she's got a few hairs in different spots. YAY! She's showed sex damn quickly. Around 4 weeks of age and like 4 days on 12/12.

Hmmm I've been thinkin maybe I should do a lil LST...just a little. Maybe tie the top to the side just once?

Can i do this now since Im already 4-5 days into 12/12?

post a picture of your lady here to get an answer from lst pros ;)
https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/289968-show-me-what-u-got-85.html

anyways, if I were you I would tie branches down where they form a V with the main stem (easy/strong anchor points) so that the overall vertical growth encounters some resistance - this way keeping your plant compact to make the most out of your cfls - and NOT bending the top at this point.
but... just my two cents ;)

again, you're doin' it right so maybe you can just let them grow the way they are

c ya!

Hmmm I guess I need to do a lot more reading on LST as I thought it was (at its most basic form) getting the top out of the way to let lower branches get light and therefor more bud sites. Or is this 'resistance' another technique?

you see, my lower branch growth it going alright (2 or 3 nodes on each branch) so I thought if i can move the top of the plant of to the side and allow more light then i could end up with a main cola and a secondary cola if I bend it so one of these lower branches is pointing up or whatever. Does that make sense?

And yea, I know, I thought the same way about just letting it go as is. But after much thought I came to the conclusion that it is an experimental grow after all. And if it has the potential to help I may as well give it a go...I mean its going to be a small plant either way so if it doesnt go that well then it wont really affect it anyways.

I dunno...I'll see how I feel tomorrow and I'll decide once and for all.

you know what? I think you're right: bending the main stem could be a good idea :)
that's what I did on my bagseed but I started way sooner :| that's why I thought you should ask in a specific thread

the "resistance" thing is simply something to keep the plant short - and that's what I'm doing on my other plant, WW (you won't find updated pix of this one on my thread tho :( )

well, good luck - will keep an eye on the grow ;) :blsmoke:

i dont want to burst your bubble but this seems to be hydroponics with you doing all the work haha. you know what i mean. rocks are like clay pellets and your like a water pump. but you must have a green thumb if you can grow in rocks.
