Extra darkness before harvest

Hi guys,

Im close to the end of my first grow. Probably about 5-7 days away. Maybe slightly longer.

I have seen some posts saying to give total darkness for 24h some even 48h before harvest.

Does this make much difference? And do people recommend it? What do yous think is the best way to approach the harvest.

Before the chop let the pots dry out completely, give them their normal dark period and before the lights should turn on cut them. Than let them hang upside down whole plant for two days with good air circulation but not straightly hit by airflow. After two days make a trim you like, cut branches and start drying... But before all that make yourself sure that your plants are rippen and matured and ready to chop!

Someone tested different times in darkness(its on youtube) with cuttings and same conditions and had them lab analysed and the darkness did seem to effect terpenes, but not strength. If i remember right 48hours gave the best results and 72 hours gave worse results than just 12 hours of darkness. But its just a small difference in taste as the terpene profile changed slightly.

Terpenes aren't related to taste. Did they evaluate sugar content? No. They didn't. The Cannabis industry is a such a joke.

Only difference I’ve noticed is the color change, and that’s about it. Absolutely no difference in the quality of the bed.
