ive noticed in flower my new growth fan leaves are smaller than when using n nutes is that common?

veg room-t-5 lighting
flower room-400 hps
nutes- sensi grow and bloom(2 part)

i don't know. My fan leaves get bigger and bigger until i switch to 12/12 then then seem to get smaller again. Never noticed a change in the size in relation to nutrients.
