Fans Thread!...?

So I was wondering, is there a thread on rollitup that properly explains the concepts of air circulation and temperature in the grow room? I was trying to do some research about what fans to get for my grow tent and couldn't find one!!

If there is a good one, could somebody post me a link? (and sorry for making this thread- ill get rid of it!)

Some bud genius with a lot of posts and knowledge can begin by explaining to me the very basics of intake, circulation, and exhaust.

For my personal situation, I am growing using a http://www.amazon.com/Secret-DarkRoom-II-Pro-60/dp/B0029AHPRA, basically 2x2 x 60" tent with 3 ports that I am assuming are for fans (one on each side and one on the top).

Im planning on running an air cooled 250w HPS over 4 three foot plants. Any suggestions as to what to get and how to setup. . . and why? I'm very curious and I don't want to fuck this grow up. Thanks!!!

Thanks! So I read that article and now have a good understandig of cfm and intake/exhaust.

What kind of setup you think would work good in a 2x2x5? It's only 20 cubic feet... So really only 7-20 cfm I need right? Was thinking of an air cooled hood too for my 250 w hps.

Are you gonna use a carbon filter? If so I would get a small 4" inline fan (not a duct booster). Even if you arent gonna use a filter I would recommend getting the 4" can fan and a controller, cause its something you may need down the road.

well i have problems with circulatin i have 8 sqare feet of grow area and a 150 hps that produces alot of heat along with 6 cfls so what does anyone recomend for size of fans and placement? also if i put in a fan how would i stop it from letting light out because im running a stealth grow so the fans cant be obvious from the outside either

Ventilation is probably one of the hardest things to achive in a stealth grow and keep it stealth. I have always been fortunate enough, even with the semi-stealth grow i am building now, to have places to exhaust to and intake from.

Did you read the guide i posted in #2?

You mentioned you have 8 square feet, you want the cubic area of the grow space. And if you arent using a cooled hood on your light you will want to exchange the air in your small space very minute or more.

my bad so like 10 or 11 cfms?

because its a 4x1x2 room which is 8 and 8 / 1(circulation once a minute) is 8 then 8x15% (for hps and cfls) is about 9.5 and for some extra push like 10 or 11 right?

12 cfm if you have a fan for exhaust and intake each, if you have a passive intake you might want to bump the exhaust up some. You say you are having temperature issues, what kind of ventilation are you running now?

Oooo I see. I bet those bad boys are cheap too huh.

So-

Two 10 or so cfm pc fans, one for intake and one for exhaust? And a separate circulation fan within the tent?
