Hey just stoppin by to show off my girls, Dinafems Sweetdeep Grapefruit, G13 Labs Blueberry Gum, and Barney's Farm Violator Kush. It took 24hrs for all of them to germinate using the paper towel and ziplock bag method, and then planted them Friday June 10th in Humboldt Nutrients soil mix, containing a blend of 60-70% Canadian Sphagnum peat moss, horticultural grade perlite, dolomitic lime and Yucca extract. Its now June 15th and these are my ladies! Oh and check out my violator mutant, its oval pair of leaves are fused together, but are now slowly separating themselves. I'll be using Humboldts nutrient line, Master A, Master B, and Verde for veg. My temps are at 90 degrees, and are at 18/6 light cycle.

Thanks for stopping by! I'm using only 1 Feliz 250 watt cfl for veg, and then going to another single 250 watt cfl for flower, but I am open to adding more cfls if I can get my temps to lower a little.

You won't really need any more light then that, to be honest you could have veged those 3 plants with just a single 125w feliz cfl and then flower with the 250w, which should make them start flowering a couple days earlier than keeping the lumens the same. However, pure blue to pure red does the trick pretty well too. Good luck man. Peat moss makes a big difference for water flow and aeration. Nice setup

Yea I figured, but I didn't know for sure, anyways they are thriving right now! They are growing wider and not much taller, which I thought they would.

So my violator kush is getting ready to break out of the fused oval leaves, hopefully this doesn't put my violator kush behind the rest. I can post pics if anyone wants to see it.

You think I should take my box cutter and cut some of the oval leaf off? the seeds are came off the a day after they sprouted. I'll get a pic here

I am saying sometimes it is okay to help your little girls oval leaves split as soon as possible. As soon as mine seeds break the soil and and I see enough oval leaf that I feel comfortable helping the seed come off I do. And rather than have two fused together little leaves I gently help them open. Like if I had the sprout like in your third pic, I would have used my fine fiskars and pulled off the little bit of the seed still holding those two leaves together

First pic is a group shot, second pic is of Blueberry gum, third pic is of Sweet deep grapefruit, fourth pic is of the mutant violator, and last pic is another group shot. So do you think it would be ok, just to carefully cut the oval leaf ,so the fan leaves can come out?

Also how do you think my ladies look so far? I'm just curious if its normal for my BG, leaves to drop low like its doing, and also the height, they don't look to be growing very tall, but the leaves are growing bigger and bigger everyday, I can really tell the difference everyday. I mean I'm not really complaining if they don't get very tall cause that's what I was aiming for, and I would eventually lst them.

I'm curious about that Feliz 250w lamp. Are you using the 6500K version now? How big is your grow space? I'm just wondering if it runs significantly cooler than a 250w hps.

yea I'm using the 6500k version great bulb, and the dimensions of my cab are 25-3/4" L x 19" W x 35-3/4" H my cabs temp is normally at 89-90 degrees sometimes 91, and when the light are off its at 75 degrees, thats with an 110cfm pc fan for an exhaust, and 72cfm pc fan for an intake. I also have a small fan inside to circulate the air, and my ladies seem like they don't mind the temp that much so hopefully everything works out.

Cool, thanks for the info, very helpful. Was thinking about getting one of the Feliz bulbs a while back. Ended up going with a handful of 42w cfls...but I may still upgrade sometime in the future. My cab is very similar in dimensions to yours, and I'm using three 80mm pc fans for exhaust.

Hey no problem! I decided to go with the feliz for the ease of just using one bulb and a reflector. Also I should probably add another exhaust as well, my exhaust is a 120mm. If I add another one, I'm gonna have to figure out a way to use the carbon filter for both fans, but for right now I'm happy with what I have, and when I move, I'll be getting a tent and a 400 watt mh/hps. I'll probably use this cab for clones once I get a tent.

Well I ended up cutting part of the oval leaf so the full leaves can come out, it looked like it might be dying when it was still attached, little browing of the stem and the tip of the leaf, but now it seems to be doing ok.

Also it's been one full week since it sprouted out of the dirt. Do you think I should transplant soon, or leave it be for another week? I also haven't introduced it to any nutes yet, and there are no nutes in the soil to start, so do you think its a good time to start now? Anyways here are some pics!

Pic 1-4 is blueberry gum, Pic 5 and 6 is sweet deep grapefruit, and pic 7 is the Violator.

Just a little update, blueberry gum looks like its going to be a heavy feeder, thing is already very very bushy with very tight nodes, its on its third one now, on week 2 from seedling so week 1 I will count as true veg.

Sweet deep grapefruit is doing great too, pretty tight nodes, and its working on the third one now, just a little spacy, I'll probably have to lst this a lot cause it looks like it will branch out.

Violator Kush is behind, is working on its second node, since its a mutant this set of leaves seems a little twisted too, but looks pretty healthy, I think it will make it but I don't see it producing much.

I will be posting pics of them on the beginning of 3rd week from seedling, or 1st week of true veg. They show me new growth everyday!!
