i used to do all fems... i honestly found that they herm more.. I am sure I will get grief for that comment and people saying you did this wrong that wrong... which very well could be correct but photos seem to not be giving me the same issue so if nothing else they seem more forgiving... it did suck when I popped six beans and raised them all up and 4 of those bastards betrayed me and were males lol... that seems like the just of pros and cons to me (-;

It depends what you want to do, how your're growing, and how much space you have. Some of us prefer regulars because we make our own crosses and seeds. Some people want to just grow females and harvest without dealing with the males that come from regular seeds. Neither is better than the other.

I could be wrong but when fems first became available I believe they weren't that stable and had a tendency to hermie, but I've been growing fems for many years now and I have never had a hermie. If I want 4 plants, I don't want to start 8 in hopes of getting 4 fems.

Same. I have limited space and limited numbers, and I only grow for my own medicine. Nice to be able to start a couple seeds and be 99% sure they are going to br girls. I've also never had an issue with herms. I had a plant a couple years ago throw 2 or 3 nanners, but that was almost certainty due to 3 days of heat stress very late in flower due to equipment failure while i was out of town for a long weekend. Fems from reputable breeders don't seem to be any less stable than regs in my experience

Pros & Cons

Maybe ill just google it...skip all the knowledge and experience of our members...
I grow only fem and have only had one hermie ever, outta over a hundred plants. I have noticed that they do tend to have funky growth mutations(fucked up leaves) but its usually only a few and not really a problem at all. I too have very limited space so fem is my only option.

I only do Fem's that's unless I'm trying to cross strains or get seed. Which obviously, you need males but that would be the only reason I use Reg. Fem cuts down on the growing time when it comes to the plant showing sex sorta say, if I plant 6 Fem, and their all strong, good Pheno's. I know I should harvest 6. If Reg's, ....oh hell. I could get all Male and have to start over wasting weeks of time and money.

I have had only 1 plant go Herm on me throughout the years.

I love regs because 1# you can get a male to cross with anything you like,, & 2# you may find a even tastier pheno then the fem version #3 Seems to be higher in thc%,, but on the other hand the fem's germination rate are usually fantastic female/male ratio, I've personally never had 1 Hermie out completely only throw off a pecker or 2 which can be pinched off... I've always heard when your able to get into the F3s of fems the genetics are pretty much stable

Cousin skeeter got it: more phenos in reg seeds. Fem you get a copy, or a very similar plant to the 1 parent. BUT, there are breeders like In House Genteics that cross-breed female plants, so I'm assuming more variety.
