Few Questions I have about rejuvenating clones and sudden stop in bud production

Okay I have a few questions, this is my third grow. I decided to use clones even though my other grows I ended with 80% of females. Anyway to the point.

The clones I have were cut from a female that had already been flowering for awhile. It's been about 3 1/2 weeks since I've had the clones they were rooted in cups at the time I received them. It took awhile but their is finally new growth(note this is a CFL grow). Now I have done clone before but from my own vegging pants. Will these clones take longer or anything I need to worry about with these clones from already flowering plant.

Now the other day I was where I received the clones and the mother plant has stopped flowering... like their not much bud at all and so many white pistils everywhere that didn't really ever start budding what would cause this? and Do I need to worry about that with my 2 clones. I am wanting the 2 clones I have to be my mother plants for my plans. The mother they came from has been in the same state for over 8 weeks not doing anything few pistils turned red.

I tried searching but had no luck.

Thanks in advance.

idk for the flowering thing, but for your clones, they will revert back to veg then grow normally, it just take longer time than if you would use cuttings from a plant in veg state.

When you take a clone from a flowering plant, the clone is already in flowering mode. It is putting resources into bud formation that would have gone to root formation had the clone been taken in veg. It also has to revert to veg mode while it is trying to grow both roots and buds. Cloning flowering plants can be done but it makes things harder and should be avoided when possible. There's also something to be said for a mother plant that has never flowered before.

How the plant you took the clone from is doing is irrelevant. Just resign yourself to growing it better than your friend did.

Alright sounds good. They are rooted well and in 5 gallon buckets now. Here is a pic of them. The bottom leaves were this way when I received them. The new growth is on top and the lower area of the plant has white hairs that do not appear in the picture.

Yea I took clones from my own female in veg before and threw it in flowering 3 weeks from cutting it and was nearly size of mother at harvest time. This was only option I had or bag seed at moment so I took these in hopes they will be good mother plants.

Thanks for the replies.

Anyone know why plant would stop flowering? Could it be genetics and the plant was just done with short yield? I'll try and get pictures of it as well.Dsci0656.jpg

Also had a question when I should top these as I don't want to stunt them badly while just resuming veg state. However I would like to get bushy females that can produce a lot of clones.

Okay well one of them seems to be doing well after reverting. Not sure of the problem with the other. Seeing small spider looking webs so thinking spider mites. Will get that taking care of. Anyway here some closer pics(not the best quality was done with my phone.) and a pic of that mother plant I was talking about. Keep in mind some of the mothers largest buds were clipped in hopes the other would gain some weight. This picture is nearly 2 months old and the plant hasn't changed much other than a few hairs turning red/brown. Its about 90% white pistils.

I'm going to start a Grow thread for these I think see how it goes. Anyway just a bit of info for you guys who look at this thread. Room is ventilated, its 8.5ft wide , 2.5 ft deep and ceiling is 7.5 ft. Temps stay between 75-85*F (Dropped to about 68 other night I put in thermostat controlled heater keeping it around 78* when my furnace runs it gets about 85*F I'm only using a small amount of the space as you can see. Going to build another area in the mean time these 2 are going be mothers as I said. Let me know what you think.

Well no one chimed in here. Anyway upon further inspection i found some webs (ACCCKK!) so spider mites is my problem for slow/no growth and taking so long to revert. So i drove a good ways to the hydro shop and got a DR. Doom fogger and some Azamax. I have never used either one but hear good things. So I sprayed my plants down good with the azamax and just set the fogger off. I turned the lights off so in few hours I'll go air out the grow room and turn the lights and heater back on. I will repeat the spraying in 7-10 days and see how they do from there. I was told if there are webs they've been there for sometime. All comments and suggestions welcome. Will start a grow log soon when I know everything is a go.

Okay the problem with the mother was my friend had a messed up photo period due to a window. Plant has taken back off maturing.

Okay here are some new pics of my clones. My larger one has taken off well now the stalk has turned purple on most of it I believe this a PH problem. Little drooping I believe to be PH also maybe over watering but I was treating for spider mites so not that worried about it. I was considering on the one in the green 5 gallon container about cutting all that lower growth and adding more soil mix to fill the bucket. Would roots grow from the cuts when buried(I will water with some transplant solution)? I don't know if I should because it already revived the lower growth and these are going to be used as clones. The other clone has grown few small sets of leaves but isn't really doing much yet. I trimmed all the dead growth off of the smaller one today.

Let me know what you think I should do with these plants for mothers. I never experimented with topping or super cropping, lolipoping. I know what they all re though. I think I may top the larger one soon.

Well I purchased a PH test kit and hygrometer/thermometer today. I think the stem was purple because low humidity. The PH was on the high side so I corrected the PH to around 6.5-6.8. I have taken steps (buckets of water spraying water in air) to correct the low humidity(which I caused with a dehumidifier thinking it was too high. Anyway now everything should be good Here's few pics from today. Temps were low because of the doors being open I was doing some cleaning and rearranging some things. Let me know what you guys think about trimming the lower growth on one in green bucket.

Heres my room few years ago.

The Middle one is a grow shoot cloned from the one on the left and stuck right into flower, after rooting in 6 days.
