Teach me, I have a container of this stuff and I’m not really sure what to do with it. I have kids, a dog and chickens so I have to be careful. I’ve seen the dog, chickens, and the kids eat dirt so you can’t trust any of them.
I put about a 1/4 cup in a 5 gallon bucket turn on a air pump for a couple hours then water it in diluted to half because I don’t want to brew 10 gallons and that covers my plants.

Just putting the bits on top of the soil does next to nothing you gotta drench to full saturation.
Even then you’ll get a few gnats they’re pretty unavoidable if you’re growing in soil using organics. Padawan has the right idea with the worm castings, you can order predator mites/nematodes but it’s a waste in the summer they die in shipping because that little ice pack doesn’t do enough when it’s 100+ inside the post office warehouse and mail trucks.

I do get gnats chilling around until a spider I let stay around gets it, since it is a moist area and poor waste management (I do have good daining saucer) but they never layed eggs or I would use it, we have huuuge potted plants that this works just fine on, but ever since starting to grow again more gnats have been flying around. Not made a nest in my pots though. We do use some sticky things in house plants but no infestations, 5 months into this with plants everywhere. I thought this was indoor, shit I am stoned and started my weekend lol Sorry if i missed that

Ok I looked again yeah, this was indoor lol, I just never heard people get other bugs to release like a outdoor setting, thats cool lol I was just thinking about how cool that is outdoor if it really worked out. My folks woould not like that if they roamed outside the tent.

Damn I just looked again, OP is talking about other bacteria, I just have not had to look into it that far but I have some kind if food chain going in myself in minimal level, like ok kill the gnat, then whats causing holes, the earwig? beatle? lol was just thinking recently if I need a bigger predator.

I had a feeling you were a youngin, lol. How old are you for real? Just curious.

There's a bunch of predators that won't wander far. Most mite predators stay in the pot. Rove beetles will venture a little, but go right back into the pot after they rove around, lol.

lol Not that young! I am not the most experienced with conversating on forums and on a subject I am only recently dedicated in (prohibition) , but sharing what I know to people for what I can, a natural urge I cannot explain but see everywhere on here.

I do not know what gave it away, but being a newb doesn’t help haha. I am close to 30. Yeah I have earwigs and big ass beatles, I do not know all bugs well, just kill em when I see em but when I am gone?

You said "my folks wouldn't like it if they roamed outside the tent", but it's all good. I was just curious.

Hell, a lot of people have room mates to get by now days. I meant it in the sense of if you likely have folks around rather it is wife, room mates, parents or a while family etc and is a common concern with growers all the way to safety hazards.

So I like to set my grow for others starting where I was at that time just for the joy of it, not just here to learn but show many many journals since I noticed many are incomplete, blochy or just that there room for so many more lol State by state droves of new growers are coming on board.

I thought you could sense that I am a millenial, typcal one but close to the generation before.

I predict we'll be adopting the southeast asian model soon... multi-generations per house will be the norm. Costs & rent are out of control... we're screwed.
I had Filipino neighbors in the 80's. They had shit together way back then. I always admired them. And I still miss the food all the time that the grandma was always making. They also take care of their elders way more than the West. I gotta respect that.

I read a comment I thought was interesting:

Good times create lazy people, lazy people create hard times, hard times create strong people, strong people create good times.

I felt like that pattern has kinda showed so far. I just hope things don’t go out of hand but thats kinda what everyones trying so hard to avoid right now.

Yup they take care of each other & they seemingly love living together. I admire that. At the end if the day, your family/friends are all that matters. Why wouldn't you wanna have a Kennedy Compound for em all ;-)
