FFOF how long until I will need to use nutes?

I started my girls in FFOF mixed in with ~30% additional perlite in 3g fabric pots. I've been watering around every 4ish days but lately I haven't watered in 6 days because the girls weren't looking like they needed it. Pots are light though so will be watering when the lights come up this evening after darkness.

That said, I've finished 3 weeks, topped and doing LST. Everything is looking hunky dory so far except for some mild nitrogen toxicity on GWK which is getting better. I have fox farms nutes but haven't added any of them, water only. How will I know when I need to add nutes? I've been ph'ing my water to keep it around 6.5 and I also have a ppm meter. Should I keep an eye on runoff and look at PPM to decide when I need to add nutes or should I just look at the plants for them to tell me when they need it?

Any advice would be helpful in this regard. Thanks.

Usually ocean forest is good for about 3-4 weeks before fertilizer is needed. No need to check run off. Consider starting your babies in 16oz cups or something smaller than 3 gal. That would allow faster wet and dry cycles in the dirt resulting in more rapid growth. After 2 weeks or so as they outgrow their small home with a healthy mass of roots then transplant into your 3 gallon containers.

3-4 weeks is the average time any good potting soil will last before the plants need fertilizer. You may see yellowing leaves and other signs of deficiency if you continue to grow without adding plant food. I'd suggest starting your fertilizer at 75% recommended dose. If more is needed then add it at your next feeding. A lot of fertilizer companies suggest adding too much. Starting small and working up prevents unwanted foliage burn.

You will see the lower leaves yellow slightly as the N begins to get used up. That will be your sign to begin LIGHTLY adding nutes.

Can be anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks with your auto but plan on about 5 imo.

So I've been seeing some yellowing of the 1st node and a little of the 2nd node leaves but otherwise everything looks good. I'll do just water today and perhaps for the next watering I'll feed. I'll need to read the nute bottles cause there are 3, and I have no idea what any of them do LOL
