Gusts up to 70 mph Wednesday are forecast for the Bay Area in "a potentially damaging and prolonged wind storm," the National Weather Service
The high-wind warning issued by the weather agency says the strongest winds will be in the hills above 1,000 feet; sustained winds of 20 to 40 mph with frequent gusts over 50 mph are expected through most of the Bay Area. The warning is in effect from 6 a.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday.
Even fiercer winds are expected in Southern California, with northeast gusts to 80 mph in the mountain passes. Weather service forecasters are calling it a possible 5- to 10-year Santa Ana wind event in the Los Angeles area, the Associated Press reported.
The weather service warns that driving will be treacherous for big rigs and other high-profile vehicles. Other hazards, it says, include blowing debris, downed tree branches and possible power outages. Furthermore, it says, "any loose objects not tied down will blow around."

lol you mean the transformer?
lol yeah i was more referring the the cable i guess with the ped. my point was underground utilities aren't all they're cracked up to be when you factor in the labor involved with maintenance. depending on what happened, repairing underground lines can be a production, as can burying them.

underground utilities are a good idea if you have "that kind" of weather a lot, though. it's all a pain in the ass in the end anyway.
