File cabinet stealth grow

I’ve been wanting to make a stealth grow for a couple years, however living in an apartment with neighbors and friends coming over frequently I’ve been very picky to what I could do it in. After coming across a free filing cabinet measuring 18x28x60” I knew I found it.
after planning how I’d do it, I’ve finally reached my end result and I’d love to share it with you guys and girls to get your thoughts.

So how does the exhaust / intake setup work? Does it keep it cool in there? Light leak issues? Noise issues from the fans?

By the looks of the fan at the bottom you have it sucking the outside air in the cabinet correct? I see you have another comp fan.. have you thought about putting that one in the top, blowing the hot air out the light creates? Are you worried of smell at all?

So I had a 50cfm usb fan as intake pulling outside air. And a larger usb fan as an exhaust. As the plant matured I ditched the larger exhaust fan, but out the blades and motor and put window mesh over both sides and stuffed it with activated carbon. Then I got a cheap 4” inline fan off amazon. I’ll post pictures later.
With no humidifier the hottest it ever gets is 82, but the average is really around 67-77 because the ac is on when the light is on.
Light leaks - negative, the door I made on the cabinet was more just to decoy, I used the 1/2” insulation and made a door to the box. Again I’ll post pictures later.
The 4” inline fan was a little noisy when I got it, but I put some clipper oil on the motor and used an adjustable fan speed controller to quiet it even more.
It’s extremely stealthy as it sits right now. I’ve had company that would blow a gasket if they knew I was growing. They’ve stood right next to the cabinet with no clue. No sound or smell.

I do have it pulling outside air through the bottom, and the pictures I took were in the middle of the build process. I added another usb fan just behind the light to exhaust the hot air as described in the comment I just posted above. Although as the plant got older I decided to make my own small carbon filter using the housing of the case fan. It didn’t have to be big since theres Only one plant and it’s only so big. So I got the larger inline fan to scrub the air. I’ll post the finished cabinet with all modifications tonight

So now the current setup I have:
I removed the intake 3 speed 120mm case fan, and replaced it with a 1 speed usb desk fan (shown in pic #3) because it has more cfm. To keep it cool.

the exhaust is a 200 cfm inline 4” fan which is plugged into a fan speed controller. Ducted to the homemade carbon filter made out of the other 120mm case fan body and window screen (shown in pic #4). The fan speed controller lets me keep the noise of the fan down. (Shown in pic #5)

the light I’m using is viparspectra 300w. Ik it’s a cheap light but it’s a stealth grow. Sue me.

Then in the last pic is the 1/2” insulation board that insulates all sides, With the interior lined with Mylar
Then the exterior of the door covered in black duct tape to make it appear darker behind the “drawers”

Lastly I’m just gonna update on how the plant looks inside the box. Let me know what you guys think:)

You could probably run 2 plants the way you stunted those :blsmoke:pretty cool.
Tbh tho I think you could grow a nice sized plant in there. Let her sides just grow up the wall. It’d be packed but hey, more nuggies.

yea that was actually my plan to grow one big one.
I didn’t know when to put it into flower to grow the right sized plant, I was concerned about the stretch and getting too close to lights.
