Fimming/Topping

Alright so I'm bout to start my first grow.

I have one main question that i can't find the answer to.. How tall should i grow my plant b4 i Fim / Top it. From what I have herd when you top it 2 new branches form and you top it again and it creates 4. Can i let those 4 grow then top each one of those to multiply branches like CRAZy.hah. or How tall should i let my plants grow b4 toping them.

Or better can someone list all the things necessary to maximize ones growing yields besides soil and lights.

Also

If I let my plant grow 6 feet tall in a 5 gal pot. What is the possible dry Yeild?? If i'm growing with supernova LED Indoors? (no space limit)

To maximize your yeild you donot top it and lst it.
You are not going to grow a plant 6 foot tall inside. You will need 10 foot ceilings.

well thats about it.

top it when it has however many branches you want off the stalk. (give the new branches time to get at least 1" before topping)

and from what ive heard it doesnt increase yeild it just give 4 smaller colas instead of one big main cola.

and yes you could top your branches on top of topping the stalk, but id be worried about new growth being too dense and blocking light.

and again, from what ive read it doesnt increase overall yield, it just increases the number of buds. no that doesnt mean more yield

if the led light can penitrate deep enough,you could grow 6 feet indoors.leds run cool so you can put plants right up on them and they are about 6'' thin,so 8' ceiling minus 6'' for the light = 7'6'' of growing room.w/ hid,yes 4-5 foot tall max.let me also state that i use hid and think that led prob wouldnt penetrate far enough down the canopy,but i might be wrong.

The reply about the bigger the roots the bigger the friuts very very important because proven to me last year some out door was planted into a 4 square ft hole big FU*&ing big then filled to level with supper soil/ Black gold. They grew so big we fit 3 people arms and legs out and could not see them this was done by FIM tech over and over threw VEG, COLAS were so big one 26.6 grams dry, and there were around 15 of those and a buch more around it. so im sold indoor big bag/outdoor big hole/both supper soil and supper croped. good luck post more pics

i like the FIM best so far compared to other training techniques, although some strains might do better being LST'd, what the FIM does is slow the vertical growth of the plant, and allows the side branching to grow out a bit while the top grows back to normal. topping completely eliminates an entire section of growth, with the FIM you dont lose your main shoot. LST is good, but my only issue is that i end up having cluttered branching. the FIM promotes nice even symetrical branching.
