First 2 weeks of flowering. How much does light matter?

Hey guys,

I have my space pretty much filled. But it'll be a week or a little more before I get a light good enough ot bloom. I just have a Mars300 in a 4x4 right now..so now much coverage.

That said the plants are looking awesome and I switch them arounf a lot., In the first 2 week..usually I see just stretching a the hairs starting. Let's say I use the Mars 300w for 2 weeks..and then use a 1000 HPS at week 3...compared to starting flowering with the HPS..how mch do you think that effects yield? In the first 2 weeks..isn't ehre about the same amount of bud growth with most lighting?

The first 2 weeks is when the plant grows the most in its life. Late in flowering it is ok to diminish a little.

The answer to your question is of course it will affect yield. Just veg a bit longer.

Hmm, really? Thanks. I figured that during the transition to flowering, while stretching and shooting out some hairs..there wouldn't be much growth difference?

Stretch pretty much doubles the size of the plant in two weeks. How is that not using lots of energy? Its growing lots of extra mass at a fast rate.

I got Diesel Thai hybrids that like to triple. I have to train them and their need for light and nutes triples in 2-3 weeks.

Here is one that was 14" tall when she went into flower. I bent her the first time around day 10 and it never really stopped growing.

She has been de leafed and un-staked and tied for harvest. But you can really see how tall she would get in the right room. She is in a 3 gallon pot.

This is grown 4 plants under each 600 watt hps. Light is yield. I do not have the space for 1000 watters. Or this girl would be a third bigger I imagine.
