well I had a plant with four dead equal tops and i decided it is small enough to scrog so...i cut four sides out of a milk crate and threw it over the top of my plant...the bucket that holds the pot sticks through the holes I cut so if I pick up the crate everything is coming with it...one plant in a one gallon bag (I just transplanted it tonight before all of this). here it is before and after. lemme know what you all think...first time using scrog method so if I am fucking anything up lemme know please...lol  btw there are two more tops that should be pokin through the crate in the next week or so making for 10 colas from an originally four cola plant...this will be interesting for me...also...I just switched it to 12/12 five days ago. here are the pics

looks like you got things set up pretty nicely.... I have been doing some research on scrog setups for a minute now. Seems to be the most difficult part is when the plant starts growing rapidly in 12/12 and you have to continue to bend you tops back through the screen so they dont outgrow it. Goodluck man its seems like you got a good start.

P.S. How many watts do you have on it? HPS? MH?

thanks man...yeah I am gonna have to move the plant around in the screen but I think it will be manageable. also I have it under an air cooled 600 watt hps

i dig the milk crate idea. Ive never tried scrog. Is it more for space or yeild?
I guess people say you can do less plants and increase yield...I suppose I am gonna find out...but the way I am looking at it now is....instead of having four main colas I will now have 10 and maybe more...probably more actually....so with the popcorn buds eliminated for the most part I think it will be interesting...plus the crate takes up about the same room a five gallon bucket would

too anyone reading this post, this is a very poor example of scrog . for 1 the screen is hiding valuble light . for 2 must i go on

why would you need light under the screen???????? the idea of scrog is to maximize growth to the tops of the plants that are through the screen.I think you are a verry poor example of doing proper research

I suppose time will tell...and I appreciate how you use your first post to be negative instead of using it to be helpful. :blsmoke:

Hey man looking good! Love the crate idea!!

If you dont have one you should put a fan over at an angle to get stems nice and thick to support all your soon to be HUGE colas to reduce the chance of having to tie them up because your going to have no way in raising the 'screen' up when they start getting taller, its going to stay at that level but your colas wont..ya know what i mean? Just some constructive critisicm for ya.. everything else looks great!

Hope this helps!!

thanks for the input bro....i do have a fan on it so I hope the stems get plenty big...but these are the kind of things I am looking for. As much as I can read about scrog there is nothing like someone with experience ya know. :blsmoke:

I know exactly what ya mean...Well alls you can do is hope for the best but expect the worst and just let your babies do their thing!..Im quite interested in how this is going to turn out so keep this updated :)

thanks guys....I think it is gonna turn out great personally....I am pretty sure I have the brains to weave the plant through the crate pretty well...lol...hopefully. what I am really wondering is.... if anyone knows if this is gonna flop because I threw it into flower about five days ago...I am thinking there should still be enough growth to fill in the crate a bit more but how far do those colas need to be coming through?...this isnt info I have been able to find

yes nice but seems those small holes might limit branch and bud growth

next try you should just get some 1x1 or 1x2in wood and some thin flexible wire and make a nice screen for them

the center of the larger squares is thin plastic....i can cut it with snips if that would be helpful....what do ya think...it would expand the holes to squares
