First attempt at growing, 5 plants in 2x4 tent?

This is my first attempt at growing. I planted 5 White Widow seeds, one week old, all 5 look great. I didn't think all 5 would sprout.
I have a 2x4 AC Infinity tent, I know that is too small for 5 plants. When I transplant them, should I use 3 gallon pots and try to squeeze them all in there? Or should I just take best 2 or 3 and put them in 5 gallon pots?

You can use 2 or the best 3 or all 5 and flower them much sooner.

Pot size depends in if your soil or soilless .
5 gal is plenty for two soil plants.
3 gal is plenty for 2 or 3 plants in coco.

I've been using coco for at least 5 years and I am ditching the 5 gallon in lieu of 7 & 10.
I'd never try smaller but I also tend to get very decent results.
I'd rather use the 5's for a 2*4 but two would be really cramped.
If you can't get more indoor space and it's not the right season for outside - you're going to end up binning the others.

I’d get those seedlings into 2gal pots with a good soil like roots organic original. Ocean forest is good, but roots has always outperformed in side by sides. Add 1/3 bag worm castings, 1tbls fish meal, some Mykos, and 2tbls oyster shell to each bag of soil for more vigor and longer lasting food source. Once sexed, top and shape plant. When it is root bound and drying up almost every day, transplant into 15gal pot if 4 females or less or 10gal pot for 5, same soil mix, but add 1/2 cup Jamaican bat guano, 1tbls Dolmitic lime, 2 tbls fish bone meal. Transplant and Let chill for 10-14 days then flip into bloom. Dont overwater big pots, dont feed. Allow 4-5 days between watering. Use r/o water with 1ml/gal botanicare calmag. Use botanicare pure blend bloom soil starting around week 3-4 of bloom at 25% strength. You’ll have an easy low maintenance grow that crushes it.

Personally I like 5 gal best.
But there's a lot of folk pulling great weight using smaller pots and more regular feedings.

you can actually keep those other 3 in small nursery pots for months and keep topping while they are in there to keep them small with many side nodes. you just need like a very small area with very low wattages.

i do this with my tiny 60x60x100cm tent and i keep like 25-30 plants in there under 40w. yeah after a couple of months they will look like shit but they will stay alive and when you transplant them into bigger pots give them two weeks and you will have a plant that looks like it has been vegging for a month or two.

i dont have a photo of my veg tent but this is my last grow and you can see the unhappy gals in their new home. 1st photo is basically day 0 and day 20 in the other photo.

Yep, @coreywebster
I've seen much better size using bigger bags and I believe most people have the same kind of experience.
I water/feed daily and only more than once if they're in need of a heavy defo and I've had main kola's almost 20” long in a 5 but that's more the exception.

I ran a few Pure Red CBD Automagicz and one main kola was 12" ish and that was in a 5 but probably would have done better in a 7.

I'm not practicing to get small ones lol
I've kept mothers for over a year in 5's and 24-28w but I also have used a saw on the roots and wire cutters on the thicker branches.
One auto I'm almost ready to pull down wasn't the typical 16-22" but was 35" from the soil when I moved it to finish with a few photos and i only get a little uncomfortable when those exceed 48-50" in stretch and I usually only have 3-4 in a 4*8 to utilize the space.
A 2*4 is no place to crowd because it already is for much more than seedlings cuttings or a mother or two.
That's just how I roll and I haven't been focusing on smaller ones since the 70's.
:peace:

good for you bro but the op obviously is looking to keep all his seedlings alive and there is a way to do it without a dedicated space. just like 10w and constant topping he can keep them alive till the 2 in the tent can finish. you are free to focus on what you want to focus i am trying to focus on helping the op.

Once upon a time there existed a 2x4 tent with 12-2gal grow bags. That tent needed a lot of airflow to compensate for the density of the canopy and turned out a decent yield with OceanForest soil, HappyFrog nutrients, and a 600watt HPS.
There are much better nutrients out there. That was a "how cheap" run.
That being said, I think 3gallon fabric pots work great when an early flip is needed and you don't mind watering a lot during flower.

One of the best things about growing, to me, is that there are so many variables and combinations to play with.

My only advice would be to try everything you think might work.
Keep your plants happy along the way and you'll soon be the one answering questions.
Have fun with it, you'll get there....with some big fat buds to help you reflect.
