First CFL Grow: Barney's LSD

Nice fix. That should grow into a knot and be stronger than ever. Your grow is coming along nicely. I've got an LSD mother I'm going to be taking some cuttings from soon.

how does the wound look like now? are the split branches still green and growing? I think a week is enough for healing a small wound, when I put down the screen on my girls, it pressed down the branches too hard and broke many tall ones (I put down the screen too late and this is why I took the screen off and went back to a normal grow), it was really bad, a few branches almost snapped off, only had like 30% of the cross section diameter of skin barely attached keeping em from totally coming off. I uprear em with strings and thats it, wounds grew back into big knots in 5 days.

The wound itself doesn't look so great since I had to take the binder clip off, and it is healing with a slight gap. HOWEVER, the plant as a whole looks like nothing ever happened (: so I'm feeling surprisingly optimistic for a pessimist haha. I keep hearing about these "big knots" I wonder if mine will have that knot since there's a sad little gap (will post pictures).

Thanks!! It's currently finishing up it's 4th week and I'm not sure if the buds are a good size for that amount of time, so I'm sure hoping it'll fill out sooner or later (:

* I'm constantly wondering if the leaves are supposed to look uglier during flowering than during vegging.. not sure what went wrong but the problem seems to have ceased for now.

*In picture 5 you can really see the breakage in the main stem of #2 *boo* The bottom of the binder clip (seen in last update) was pressing down on one of the 4 main tops and I had to remove it to avoid another breakage. So it looks like it's healing with a large gap. Looks ugly, but the plant is still alive so I'm hopeful (:

*Lastly, I was just wondering if the buds look like it is decent in size? These pictures were taken a few days ago on it's 23rd day of flowering.

*Will water and update in a few days when it finishes up this 4th week. Suggestions are welcomed&appreciated.

I think you're looking real good for 4 weeks. Nice number of bud sites and nice size of buds. Nice sticky bud leaves.

First grows are always nerve-wracking. I'm only on my 4th grow right but it does get better. I was about 5 weeks into flowering on my first grow and got a major spider mite infestation. I was pretty freaked out, but it turned out alright. Just one of those things you need to be prepared for.

One thing to keep in mind with that split. As the buds start packing on more weight keep an eye on it. You may need to take some of that ribbon and tie a brace between the two stems, a few inches above the split, that will not allow them to spread further apart. Maybe even do some preventative maintainence. At this point you want the plant to use its energy making stcky buds not healing injuries.

Keep up the good work.

Peace,
PB

I completely forgot I had a stem split a while back. It grew back with a fairly large gap. I tried to post a pic but was unable. Maybe there is something wrong with the site or I'm not doing something right. Probably the latter, I've never posted pics here before.

Mine is definitely growing back with a defined gap! Did you try clicking on "go advanced" for your post, and then selecting the "attachments" icon with the paperclip (next to font/smiley faces selection)? Hope to see that picture (:

MISC.
1. the yellowing on #2 that has been occurring every few days
2. the specks on leaves that i started noticing 2 days ago
3. more specks (occurs on both plants) not sure why...
4. the split on #2, growing with a gap, no knot.

IMPORTANT!
can anyone tell me whether or not these are seeds ):
bb4.JPGbb1.JPGbb2.JPGbb3.JPGbb5.JPG

* i found a leaf that had been nibbled on, so i TEDIOUSLY applied neem oil on as many leaves as i could (individually). then i washed it off to avoid burns. very monotonous process. ripped a few leaves but oh well x______x

* hoping someone could tell me what those specks mean? and how to stop them

* so these two are starting 6 weeks tomorrow, and i am a bit impatient feeling like the buds are too small for how long they've been flowering. but then again it's my first grow so i wouldn't know enough to judge. input please??

* i'm planning to flower for 10 weeks total. if anyone reading has grown LSD, how long did you flower for, and what do you suggest?

thnx for stopping by :hump:

I'm not sure if those are bananas or not. Maybe you could start a new thread to get someone with more experience to take a look. If they are the fix could as simple as just picking them off if there aren't too many.

What kind of neem oil are you using? I've never washed mine off before.

The spots could be from a calcium deficiency. What kind of nutes did you end up using? I use epsom salt @ 1/2 tsp./gal. water for mag every other watering or so during flower. My tap water fulfills my calcium requirements.

I've only finished 1 LSD and I chopped it @ 72 days.

Still not sure why I can't upload pics. The little circle of dots just keep spinning around and nothing happens. I let it go for a couple of hours once... nothing.

Peace,
PB

I highly doubt those are 'seeds' - I've had those on my plants a few times and it fooled me too. Squeeze a few of them to make sure they're 'hollow'... those 'pods' are where you would see seeds develop, but you can tell there's hairs coming out of them too - a bit deceiving, but they'll have some trichs on them as well, so you can still at least use them in your trim that's gathered for making hash or butter... =)

I'm using Green Light Neem Oil, the label says to wash off after a few minutes or else it'll burn. I neglected to do so once...and definitely regretted it :(
I ended up using the Fox Farm Trio, and I increased the amount of nutes per gallon yesterday, and the leaves seem to be looking a lil greener! But we shall see how it fairs in a week or so (:

Some of the "balls" do have pistils coming out, so that reassures me a bit. One of them didn't have pistils but I think I see it growing in..though it does feel hollow? O_O rawr........... I may end up taking clearer pictures and posting them as a new thread for help.

been following along for a little bit now...thought id chime in...im growing a LSD myself...and i think i got lucky and got one of the mutant pheno's out of it...really funky growth...and ive seen a few of the mutants that have grown from this strain and was told it was more potent then the pretty phenos that it outs. im gonna stick around till harvest to see how your grow turns out...looks great so far. think the only thing im different is i plan to CCOB them (crop circle training). soon as i see the first few cloudy trichs..it gets chopped...i want the trippiest up high i can get out of her.
