if your largest bulb is 42wats you cant have 8000 lumens, lumens do not add. the largest bulb i have is a 105watt putting out 6200 lumens. the bulb and base are huge, makes a good top of plant light with smaller bulbs positioned near other bud sights around it. I'm a super nub but i've read a ton on CFL lighting.

I turn to the internet for my lighting needs because Homedepot has crap for CFL's where i live, no 6500k, and highest watt 5000k is 27watts and highest watt 2700k is 34watts.

super congrats on growing your own. in the first few weeks of my own attempt and its not looking super fly but i've learned alot.

not sure where you live, and I agree home depot has "daylight" @ 5000k BUT if you have an Ace hardware anywhere near yuou , they sell single 23watt 6500k bulbs for $7
