Got three young plants under lights in my closet. The lights are about 5 inchs from the plants. They have been under there about 2 and half weeks. One has really out performed the others, as the pics show. I have noticed yellow spots on the plant, that is growing the best. They are on it's first set of leaves. Any idea of the cause of this?? should I be worried. Solution?? Have been woking some fox farm nutts in the last week or so. Also getting the ph in my water has been a pain in the ass. I have a hydro sysytem, drain to waste. Any help on water to use mainting ph/ ec levels ect.. Also watering periods, right now been watering them self 3 times a day. Bout to set up and a pump with a drip system.
Sorry to be so long winded, just hoping to get some good advice from some more experinced growers. Nice one

really weird spots. possibly pH fluctuation?

Especially if you're growing in hydro, you wanna make sure your pH and PPM/EC are spot-on.

are you misting the plants btw?

No have not been misting them. The PH could be it, has been probaly been all over the PH scale, just got a PH and EC meter to take measurments. Waiting on ph up/down solution to come in next week.

Well to be honest I've never bought pH Up/Down.

I just use organic white vinegar or pure lemon concentrate. For you that should be a temporary fix to the pH problem which, if not corrected, could really ruin your crop- especially in hydro.

Hope some of the more experienced hydro growers here can also chime in.

is it sort of a powder white that is developing on the plant or are the leafs actually getting spots on them?

pH is a must for hydro and it needs to be lower compared to soil grows ( 5.9-6.3 ) You will NEED a pH meter, they will pay for themselves in the long run.

I am using tap water, and there are spots for sure. I want to say it is the ph level that may be causing it.
