What' up Mandi, I'll been working my ass off all week so I'm back! I do cure my buds after letting them dry. It's recommended that you let your weed cure for at least 2-4 weeks. But how many smokers have the patients? It's worth the wait believe me to let them cure for 2 weeks, take a sample or 2:) then let them continue curing for another 1-2 weeks. The taste, smell and high will be your pay off!

Welcome back Chief! Does the curing improve potentcy or just taste? I've got the original main cola harvest in a 2qt glass mason jar, and it's been close to 2 weeks for that cure. The secondary colas are also curing -but a week behind that, and the last of the popcorn buds were just clipped Saturday afternoon. I got 92g total with the popcorn buds, so we'll see what that dries to (probably a little over a half oz). If so, that will put me just over the 4oz mark for both AKs together. I also got 27 seeds during harvest of the last buds today. That was from pollinating just three tiny lower buds on them! Looks like I should have some AK available for a while...

Yes, one of the three is now showing lots of hairs...of course, it had to be the AK48! I have the top cloned, so I will once again have at least two AKs to harvest. I can just hope that I get to try the Blue Mystic as well. If I get that, I don't even mind if the Short Rider ends up a boy again. At the moment, all are still looking good and growing well with mutliple colas (two with 4 colas, and one has 3 plus a fourth trying hard to catch up). -Mandi

Gave the fast growing cloned top from my AK48 baby girl a bigger home to spread out into...and the other two tops from Blue Mystic and Short Rider are now in party cups for a bit - until their moms show sex (they're still being shy, so the crotch watch continues). I don't want to waste the soil and effort of replanting into gallon pots only to find they are boys. I will likely put the bigger ones into 12/12 at the end of the week since they will have vegged 8 weeks by then. The tops will veg longer, until their sex can be known and maybe I'll practice some lst on them, since I've yet to try that. Will update with photos when I have time later...

Hey Mandi, curing improves the taste, potency and smell. After 2 weeks I sample a small piece:) Wait the entire month and you will be in for a treat. That's a nice yield from 2 plants. One ounce from the popcorn buds once dry is my prediction:) I hope to ask for your help when I try to get some seeds.

Sure, I'll help any way I can with your seed production attempts. Have you been able to save any pollen yet? If not, the next male you get, you should grow it out long enough to collect some. I put mine in the basement (in a big box from a microwave), with a pair of CFLs on an extension cord hung from the ceiling. It was ghetto, but it did the job for me. Just watered them and waited for the pods to swell and start bursting, then I collected them and let it sit to dry some. As soon as I thought the girls had started some decent flowers, I dabbed a few of the lowest buds with the pollen and let nature do its thing... I got 27 seeds from the two buds on one plant, but I forgot which bud I did on the other plant, so I'm waiting to see what shows up when it dries. LOL I plan to cross the new AK with the Blue Mystic, and then you can have a couple seeds from that, if it works okay for me. It will be another two months or more for them though...

The more it cures the smoother the smoke is and the original stinky smell comes back stronger. Like fine bud always is...better with age if properly cured. Never over dry or too moist. LOL I am curing bud now, its always good to sample your bud at different stages to see how you prefer your smoke to be. So I always sample smoke each week so I can see how I enjoy my own grown bud. Yummy. LOL Oh and Madi I am a huge NORTHERN LIGHTS FAN!!!! I got a few NL strains going right now.

I don't know the sex of the Master Kush plants yet so I'll let you know. Thanks BKB, I would appreciate the seeds man, I wanted some blue mystic regular seeds to do the same thing just with another strain. I love me some blue mystic:) Blue Mystic and AK together will be a powerful smoke, I'm drooling:)

Still no results on the crotch watch...they are being stubborn about showing preflowers, but at least they have not grown balls yet either! They go into 12/12 on Friday, and I have a feeling they will show quickly then as they're getting alternate nodes now. The 92g from the popcorn buds ended up being only 20g dried - about 0.7oz - which brings the grand total for the two AK48s to 4.3ozs. I'm hoping the new 'baby' AK will be a good producer as she has 4 nice main colas going. I think I will try to lst the cloned top of her so she will bush out some more without having to top her too.

Chief, do you know when the optimun time is to pollinate a couple buds on the AK girl? Should I do it right away, as soon as the buds start - or wait until they are a couple weeks along? I want to be sure they have enough time to produce as many seeds as possible in the few buds I will knock up...that AK/Blue Mystic cross could be great stuff, so I want plenty of seeds. If I get lucky and the baby Mystic I'm waiting to sex turns up female, do you think it will matter which way I cross them (mom Mystic/dad AK - or mom AK/dad Mystic)? It should be equal either way, you think...?

No news is good news so keep watching that crouch. I would pollinate the AK 2 weeks after she starts flowering. The Blue Mystic or the AK would make a nice mother! Whichever one flowers first would get pollinated. Hey Mandi, 20g is not bad for popcorn buds:) and 4.3 ounces of some dank ass weed is a great success.

Yeah, I didn't think it should matter which gal gets the pollen...if I have the choice in girls. I have pollen for either, so I can cross them no matter what. Going to put the bigger babies into flower today - and let the others veg a bit longer to bulk up (soon I will know which ones to keep). I will take the stronger plant if I have the luxury of choosing between both. The crotch watch intensifies...LOL -Mandi

Finally...some updated pics of my Christmas babies! This is on their 8week birthday just after waking up from their first taste of a 12 hour naptime...they seemed to like it, as I've already had to raise the lights. I'm hoping to see some more girls in a couple days, as I have their cloned tops still in veg until they can grow a bit bigger. -Mandi

Plants look very nice and healthy. They will have about a 2 week window of stretching so stand by and watch those babies stretch!!!

Yes, they seem to be starting their stretch already! Very obvious growth just in the day since switching the lights over. Watching the two that have yet to show sex and still can't see anything like balls, so I'm optimistic that they may be girls. Will know in a few days or so... -Mandi

My first try at making 'ice hash' is progressing nicely...
Mixed in an old microwave popcorn bowl that has a somewhat pointy bottom (gave it a good place to settle naturally).
It looks pretty dark compared to some I've seen, but I followed the directions, so it should be okay.

Once the water had evaporated enough, I improvised a mould to make a nice little drying tube. I cut a small strip down the length of a
fat drinking straw (thanks to McD's). Then I used a plastic knife to fill it with the soft hash - reminded me kind of like spackle. When
it dries completely, I should have a four inch long plug of hardened hash that I can slice off discs to burn as needed. Can't wait!

Hey Mandi, are your BMs autos? That Blue Mystic is going to be a big ass tree:) Rest of your grow: the AK-48, Short ryder and the clones are looking great. Looks like you are on your way to another fantastic grow:) You are going to have some gooooood hash, I can hardly wait until I'm making some hash too. Don't forget to give us a smoke report on the hash:)

Hey Mandi, I saw on one of my friends thread here where this dude rolled a small joint out of hash. You should take the hash out the straw and cut it in half and then roll it out with a small jar like a small sheet of hash and then take some of your bud that you just harvested and put it in the middle of the hash sheet and roll that mama up and smoke it like that. INSANE!!!!!! You got a lot of hash there and bud to try it out bro. I am going to try that after next harvest.

Hey Chief...No, my BMs are just regulars as they are Nirvanas (they stopped autos due to problems just before my order). If stem size is any clue, they are all going to be a decent size. They've already got stems as thick as my pinkie finger - and nearly as big as the first grow was at harvest time.

I tried my hand at LST on Sunday evening, and by Monday afternoon, they were already twisted toward the lights. I did the AK and BM tops that were cloned from the babies just put into flower. I'm hoping to increase bud sites without having to top them and lose so much in height (plus I needed to learn another new trick). I don't know if I did it right, but nothing broke off anyway...

I tried a tiny bit of hash about two hours ago - just added it to a little bud in my pipe. It was only a few hits, but there was a nice buzz from it. I didn't want to overdo it, as I had no idea what to expect. A bit of a spacey high and nice, mellow feeling. With the tiny amount I used, I should have a good supply for a while. It shrank up to about 3 inches long in the straw after drying totally. BKB...I think rolling some with a joint would knock me right on my ass...LOL

Thats why you roll a small one and take one hitter quitters when you cant sleep....I think it would knock everyone out. I want to go into a weed coma when I smoke one.
