First Grow - Bag Seed

and, even if you might be worried about transplanting during flowering... once you have them sexed, if you feel like taking the effort, remove the bottom of each potso that the soil is exposed on the bottom only, then you can set the pot on top of another pot with soil in it, and the roots will grow down... if you have an extra foot of height or more this can be a pretty good solution...

and a few last things before you go into flower...

maybe pick up some flowering nutes? lower N higher P
with your floro lights... get some in the warm spectrum (2700K) to help simulate that autumn sun that flowers the plants better

make sure to stop the foliar feeding once budding starts to help prevent mold and whatnot, and maybe even try to bring the humidity down (keep it under 50, but where your at now is probably fine)

best of luck!

I might have to try that, the transplanting tech. Sounds like that system could come in handy and make things a lot easier; just hope I don't have to worry about it : )

Yeah, humidity hasn't risen above 52% for the grow so far, so I suppose I should be fine there. Thanks for the tip on the foliar feeding, I had read that somewhere before but had since forgotten about it.

One of three fluoro tubes' light is softer than the other two and the four SCFLs are all in the warm spectrum, so I should be good there too; at least for the time being until I get them sexed.

Just wanted to know if fan leaves with 8 points were at all common? On one plant, a second set of 8 pointed leaves is coming about and just wanted to make sure that this is due to the strain and less to do with nutrients/other.

Its all good. I was worried that 8 pointed leaves were all that I was going to get from a couple plants but the new set on the main cola, on each plant, is coming in with nine : )

Day 40 - 4th day of flowering

Things are moving along well so far. Preflowers are coming in on most all of the plants. The dark periods have been good too, limited light interruption.

I'll keep you all posted. Pictures of preflowers to come soon! They just need to get a bit bigger : )

I had planned on using regular nutes through the first two weeks of flowering to avoid a nitrogen problem in the plants. is this wise? or would it be better for me to start using bloom nutes now? its a 10-52-10 and also contains trace nutes like mg, b, etc... thoughts please.

Day 43 - Day 7 of Flowering

These are some shots of one of my plants. Guessing its a male? Just wanted someone else to agree with me before I get rid of it.

Welcome Bodhi
The plants look very healthy.

The sex pics look like a male. ( if all 3 pics are the same plant then yeah it is a male)
I might would wait a day or so just to be sure.
The second pic definately looks male.
The pollen sacs will bunch up like that.

I know it is a sad state of affairs.
This is part of growing from seed though.

Happy growing

Thank you, fellas, for your help. Regrettably, I'm afraid that this isn't the only male that I will be encountering. It seems as if one other plant is definitely a male at this time, leaving me 5 more plants to sex. Of those 5, I'm guessing that at least 3 of those are female judging by the preflowers that have appeared so far. Not too bad for a bag seed grow i think; 3/7. I can be happy with that

Day 43 - Day 7 of flowering

Here are the rest of them! Aren't they beautiful? So healthy  I just hope that I get some fems outta' 'em. <Crossing my fingers for three>

Do female calyxes (sp?) ever develop in clusters at nodes early in flowering? So, if I see clusters of growth at nodes, I can probably safely assume that its a male, right?

Had to butcher two more this afternoon. I'm down to 4 more plants, officially. It is promising that these last few will be females though. I'll keep posting !

good luck man! i hope for the best, they look good and healthy.. i have 6 growing and a seventh that is most definitely male. just fan leaves, absolutely no growth otherwise. the others are bushing out nice.

Let us know how it turns out. I have been flowering these blueberry's for a week so we are about even. GL with those last few.

First appearance of stigmas today!!! Two pairs on two different plants. A very good day indeed!
