First Grow....Ever

Day 49 from seed:

The one La Diva that began flowering first is looking very good (at least I think so):

All the others are pre-flowering (all females). They are on the flowering stage recipe of the Technaflora nutrients at about 980ppm and so far no issues.

Day 57 from seed.

Strongest of the La Diva's is developing flowers quickly and starting to look frosty.

IMG_1989.jpgIMG_1990.jpgIMG_1977.jpg

All of the plants are looking strong and healthy and growing quickly - the others are beginning to flower as well.

The Kandy Kush and Blueberry are also doing well. I plan on pulling a few clones off of the KK after the autos are done.

Have the hydro @ around 740ppm with the Technaflora Flowering phase formula. Keeping the temp ~68 with ice bottles.

I have never done this so if you have any feedback or ideas to improve that would be awesome. Do they look like they should? It seems so based on the other grows I have researched. Pretty excited to see them at this stage. Super killer smell in the tent too :bigjoint:

Hey Duudical,
Thanks for the grow journal. I am also on my first grow, although mine are still in the seedling stage. It's nice to see that if you do your research you can get it right the first time around.

Thanks 1hit! Yeah, I am learning a ton, but good planning seems to make it easier. Definitely see a drastic difference in the different plant genotypes. The one that flowered earliest is very short and squat and has a shitload of buds on it. The others are taller and have fewer budsites, but they are starting to come along and I am excited to see what I get out of them. But that most mature plant is definitely the star right now. After these are done, I am going to put three clones of the Kandy Kush into flower and see how that goes with a photoperiod strain.

Good luck to you.

Some more pics:

This is the La Diva that flowered first...it is very short, branchy and covered in buds.

This is what the others look like - much taller and less branchy - but they are starting to flower

The other Delicous La Diva Automatics are waaaay taller than the first La Diva to flower. They are stretching up toward the lights and are forming quite a few buds on them.

IMG_2076.jpg

This is the Delicious Seeds La Musa Automatic - stretching and starting to bud nicely (I think)

IMG_2077.jpg

This is the first La Diva Automatic to flower; it is literal covered in buds, large and small. Stayed very, very short.

Day 77 from seed:

Lots of stretching and bud development on the La Diva's and the La Musa. The La Musa is covered in crystals. Everything seems to be going well. Going to have to pull the shorter La Diva soon - trichomes are looking milky through the 420 scope, but I haven't observed any going amber. The books and posts I read said best harvest time is when they are 50/50 amber/milky. But pistils are definitely turning red as you can see in the pics.

Any advice is much, much, much appreciated.

Here is what they look like today:

Lots of stretching and bud growth on the La Diva's. These two turned out waaaay taller than the first one to develop. It is still very short and squatty with a pretty good main cola and a ton of smaller buds all over the plant:

This is the Delicious Seeds La Musa Automatic. It is getting super frosty:

Harvested on Day 96 from seed. Which is roughly twice what was advertised for the Autos, but whatever. I am super pleased with the results. I am sure there is quite a bit I did wrong and I learned a lot that I can apply to my next run (which will be photoperiod with (4) Kandy Kush clones).

Here is what they looked like the day of harvest prior to cutting them down:

IMG_2340.jpgIMG_2341.jpgIMG_2342.jpg

The Delicious Sees La Musa Auto put out some seriously fat, sticky buds. I didn't prune, or top or FIM it at all and it had three very sizable *fat* buds on it like this one:

IMG_2304.jpg

The Delicious Seeds La Diva Autos also yielded more than I expected, their buds were decidedly longer and not as fat, but still super sticky. I did FIM one plant as an experiment to compare with the another I did nothing to and it did have a few large colas as opposed to the one which is nice to know for future grows:

IMG_2331.jpgIMG_2337.jpg

And here it all is drying in the tent:

IMG_2301.jpgIMG_2305.jpgIMG_2307.jpgIMG_2309.jpgIMG_2310.jpgIMG_2313.jpgIMG_2315.jpgIMG_2317.jpgIMG_2319.jpgIMG_2320.jpgIMG_2321.jpgIMG_2322.jpgIMG_2330.jpgIMG_2334.jpg

Overall, I am pleased with the LED's performance. It is interesting that the La Musa was almost exclusively and entirely under the Blackstar 135w, 3-watt chip LED and put out such fat buds. I plan on purchasing another one of those since it does put out quite a bit more light and a lot more red spectrum visually than the 90-watt, 2-watt chip LED which was primarily over the La Diva plants and which I will use for mothers and clones in the future I think. Not sure if this accounts for the difference in the shape and girth of the buds or not, or if that is more genetically determined (since these are different strains), but it would be an interesting experiment. All of the buds, regardless of the light they were under, literally sparkle in the tent when you put any light on them at all, they are covered in crystals and super-duper sticky with resin.

Peace out.
