First grow, how do they look

Hi Guys--

This is my first grow, I am a newly reccommended medical user in northern california, and I want to grow this summer. I started out last weekend with four clones from two different clubs.

2 were started in soil when I got them (Mako Kush and Grape Ape)
2 were started in rockwool when I got them (Strawberry Cough and Sour Diesel)

I put them in 7 gallon pots, with some all-organic soil purchased from Sloat garden center. They a good amount of sunshine every day, and its been around 70 F and sunny this whole week.

I just went back to Sloat, and told the guy I was growing (I'm legal) and he reccomended some Maxsea Organic fertilizer. It is a 16-16-16 mixture. For the last week, I was watering every day, with tap water, and I have now mixed 3/4 of the reccomended dosage with a gallon of water, and am using that now.

As of yesterday, before the nutes, this is how they looked.

1.I am a bit concerned about the straw. cough, the tips are curling downward a bit. (First picture, and 5th picture)

2. There is a yellowish/brown spot on one of the Mako Kush leaves. It has by far the thickest stem, but the least visible growth. (3rd picture)

3. The grape ape seems to be doing the best, lots of leaves growing, but barely any height gain. (4th picture)

4. The sour diesel is getting taller I think, but is greener in some areas and not in others. Is this normal? (2nd and 6th)

How am I doing? What should I do about the nutes? How often should I be watering, and how saturated should the soil be?

I have done an immense amount of reading about this, but I want to make sure I don't screw this up.

Thanks

ah give em a bit of time to settle in and you'll be flyin'! I wouldn't worry too much about those minor problems...maybe lay off on the nutes a bit, but otherwise you're golden. You're outdoor so those puppies should just go nuts.

Good luck and post pics when they really get goin ;)

Thanks for the reply Steve. Is there any way to predict any range for a yield? I've heard anything from a couple of ounces to a half pound per plant....

About watering: Should I just do straight water for a while, how often? How much?

well it really depends on all factors; light, nutes, pot size, etc. But seeing as how youre outdoor if you move em to bigger pots you could easily get the half pounders or more. Water them when the soil looks good and dry, thoroughly soak the soil but dont flood. And yes I'd just give them just water for awhile (couple weeks maybe) as all the nutes those little girls need is all in the soil right now anyways.

So if I don't move to bigger pots, they're in 7 gallon now, will I pay the price dearly for it?

They were looking pretty nice today, but in the dark, a bit droopy, I'm attributing that to them not having light at that time.

oh, alright, I didn't know what your first post was responding to... the pots or the drooping.

Yea, I love DA BAY!!!

I'd say that 7 gallons is small for growing outdoor as those things will get massive. I grow in 5 gals indoor! Fdd would be the guy to ask on this one, but I'd get em in big ones or even right in the ground if possible.

I don't know if putting them in the ground is possible, we need to keep them out of neighbor's views.... its a long story.

I think that I am getting some stem height gains now, the grape ape's first leaves now appear higher up from the ground than they did before.

How tall will these get? I was watering every day for the first week, but now the water hasn't been drying up that quickly, it we lost the sun for a couple of days, so they havent been watered for 2 days. Going to do it today.

they could get to 8 feet or more easily outdoors depending on how long the sun stays up where you live they could be veggin for awhile...

That would be awesome. They probably get sun from around 9-10 am until 4-5 pm.

I live in Northern California.

Yea, most of the bay has shitty weather right now, its cold and cloudy and windy today.

I think that I am seeing some height gains now.

Would it be normal for a sour diesel plant to droop when there is no sun.... here is a pic, you tell me if thats bad. (Pics 2/3)

I think that the kush is getting height and leaf gains now. (pics 1 and 4)

if your talking about the lower growth, then yes... it is perfectly fine. for the most part when they are getting light u wanna see them reaching with their leaves towards the light. most of the original growth thats on the clones i get never stays past a few weeks. i usually get rid of it and everything else looks great...

yea, the lower growth on the sour diesel, pics 1/2, is drooping. This is less severe during the day, but still evident. How tall will these get?
