First Grow In a DWC ever!

Hey guys, this is actually my first post ever on these forums so nice to meet everyone! I'm currently starting a small stealth closet DWC system and I just wanted to share it with you all so hopefully you guys can help me improve! Any tips and/or advice are greatly appreciated as I'm still pretty new to growing in general. For starters, a run-down of my setup...I'm running this whole op in a closet in a roughly 2.5x3x3.5. I have a 4 gallon res(Iknow its small but I'm only going for 2-3plants total so hopefully i should be okay?) I have a 40 gal airpump for aeration along with 2 airstones and theat whole setup. I'm running CFL's since heat and space required are an issue...so 3x2700k 26w and 1x6500 26w. (should i add supplemental flourescent lighting along the sides of my box later on in the process?) I have two exhaust fans in the back of my box...computer fans. One is for intake and one is for outtake (does it matter if the intake is above the outtake btw?) I am having some issues keeping the temperature down..it tends to fluctuate between 75-85 inside the box which i hope won't be an issue but im still open to ways of lowering the temperature...so suggestions? =) As far as nutrients go, I'm using the GH 3part series as that seems to be highly recommended for growers of my level so no issues there.

Wow...so thats that. Im actually in the process of waiting for some clones I took off a friend's mother plant to root...FuegoxBlueberry...so I'll post some pics up of those and my setup in general as soon as i figure out how to upload pictures. As far as the clones go, they seem to be doing okay. I cut them off yesterday around this time, did the whole procedure with clonex and rockwool, humidity dome, etc and they seem to be doing pretty well. This is the first time I've ever taken clones myself so hopefullly i did it the right way. There was some wilting last night before i went to bed but by this morning around 11 they seemed to be back to their original stance, if not a little perkier? Taking that as a good sign. =) I'll keep updating this as my operation continues...hopefully I get some people rooting for me (get it?) and can help me out as well. Hope to hear from you guys soon

If your air temp is 75-85 you will be ok. 85 can be little high but if you have moving air and your room humidity is ok plants will be ok (you want high temps when using CO2). DWC temp that is more important than air temp is try to keep your res temp at or near 68f ( drop a frozen 2 litre bottle in it if you have to, 1x at lights on, or near it another at lights off if needed.)

To help in keeping your roots healthy and since you are using GH you can use H2O2 no problem but I would recommend Gold Zone.

Bigger res would be nice but hey, making things work with what we have at hand is the fun part of growing cannabis, that and harvest time.

Good Luck

Yeh your cookin but have to tell you that flo's are gonna be ok in veg state but you will need 400 wt for flower, just put vent tube in hood and attach you fan to it and it will be fine, but I run flo for middle room and loose density when in flower, I tried so I didnt have to move the system, but never again, real loose brown weed lookin shit, you know

Edit: pics!

Awesome thanks for the info so far guys! And yeah I've heard reservoir temps are more important.... For that I plan on using the freezer sticks that go in water bottles...i figure they're non toxic and will remain frozen longer and also take up less space in my already small reservoir... Good idea? Btw can anyone tell me how to upload pictures? I checked out the sticky but I think its outdated...

You're going to want seperate rez's. Eventually.

I know a lot of people do single rezs. I don't know why other than convenience.

You're going to encounter root lock, single plant nute burns, single plant algae problems.. etc. and you can't work on a single plant very easily when it's being fed through the same system as the rest of your crop.

Question on the multiple rezs, when you say that do you mean like each plant has its own rez or they all share the same rez like i have planned now, but hook up another rez for water lvl? or do you mean have standby rez's that i can switch out and stuff?

I mean one rez/airstone/lid/netpot for each plant. Separate. Not using the same water source at all.

Awesome void thanks manI might change my single res out to three different ones depending on how many clones Root successfully. Speaking of clones...a couple of mine are looking funny...any suggestions? Pics attached.. Someof the leaves look like they're pinched a little...and one of them is leaning heavily to the side...

If you cut plastic bottles in half (big ones obviously,) you can cover your clones with them whilst they're in the DWC. This is possibly the best way to propagate and encourage root growth.

get those cubes into something else so the roots have room to grow! you are probably air-trimming the roots and they are going to get stunted if they aren't already
