This is a pic of my plant it just turned 3 weeks old today. I am only using an 8W fluorescent light at the moment due to low $ . The setup is under a desk in my closet. I have a fan on low constantly blowing on it, lights on almost 24/7. Mirror propped for extra light reflection. Medium grade soil. Watered every other day. Not sure what strain or any of that, just a seed I found in a bud I bought from my dealer. (weed was decent). I know the setup is pretty junk but this is my. first grow, . It is just an experiment, to learn some basic knowledge on the plant. ADVICE GREATLY APPRECIATD.

I would say get your knowledge up on this site and through books. I think a bigger light is in order also. I wish you many cheap lbs in your future. Get a 250 hps and do a micro grow with a verified strain. Don't be scared to use attitude seed bank. I can vouch they are very legit. Look at Ed Rosenthal or Greg Green marijuana grow books. These guys know the grow. I dont mean to be harsh, but I would pitch this whole grow. I know you can do much better.

I wasn't man I was just like you man. What you got right there is my first grow a decade ago. I am trying to put you in the fast lane.

Get rid of the mirror, it's not helping at all in fact it may burn your plant, better off with a poster board, matte white, Not bad for a beginner don't worry what others have to say, we all had to start somewhere. Your lamp? standard florescent? better off with T5's. Keep on growing, you'll learn it sonner of later.

I am upgrading on lights, space, New fem seeds etc, that is what I'm looking for tips on. I want to stick with flo lights bc of it's efficiency. I want to get a sativa strain because I prefer a head high rather than the body buzz. Any tips on lights, etc^ ?

Light is t5 8w 3500k I read that it isn't as useful to the plant during veg and I need a higher "k"

I am using T5's at the moment, my veg lamps are 6500K and my flower lamps are 3000K. I've been using them now for 2 years and have decent grow for my little space. The fixture cost around $80 including shipping they come with 6500K bulbs, bulbs range from $8 to $10 depending where you buy. here's where I got my fixture. Look under grow lights and then florescents.

I found CFL's at Walmart 3 daylight 6500k and 3 soft white 2700k. I want to be able to just plug them into an extension cord to hang in a closet. Do you know what the adapter thing for that is actually called?

Not sure what you mean do you mean the mogul base? or does it screw into a srandard socket?

I saw a grow journal with the set up I can't find it the were basically lights connected to extension cords tied together hanging

That sounds to me like a mogul base. The base of the lamp is larger than a standard light bulb.

Yea, a mogul base is the same as a standard socket but larger to accomadate the cfl, not sure if you'd have to wire it but that's pritty standard. the screws are color coded, brass for pos, silver for neg. not sure if it has grn for ground. No big deal tho.
