hi this is my first grow and its going really well :) i started off with 10 white widow seeds which all sprouted but only 4 made it into the nft tank,i took cuttings when the time came to determine the sex of each plant and i found that i had 1 female 1 male and 2 hermi's, lucklythe female was 3 times the size of the others so i waas happy lol

ive since took cuttings off the female and them cuttings are now in the nft tank n growing well, however i put the female plant in the flowering room and its gone from 3 feet to over 6 feet in just 19 days!!!!

it started to show white hairs after just 1 week and now its goin mental,
i keep bending the stems down when they get too close to the light but they just keep on lifting back up lol

has any of u guys got any ideas to stop it going any taller???
it would be much appreciated as its gonna be growing through the ceiling if i dont sort it out lol

pics!!!!

looks great.....my experice get some twine tie it under a nod at the top of the plant and pull it right down not too far but far enough it will look horrible to you at first.....then watch the tip go from pointing down to straight up.... this will give u a shot at saving some space....maybee theres a better way but thats what i do helps alot...gl

dam when did you start flowering? I would normally start to flower when about 40% of my vertical grow space is used up so the rest of the space will let the plants have some room for flowering.

lol well the veg room is about 5ft high and the flowering room is 8ft, i put it in for flowering and it was about 3-4 ft in 19 days it went to 6ft and it aint slowing down, its got loads of bud sites now tho so should be plenty to smoke :joint::)

Hi guys, don't you think that these plants don't get enough light so they're getting taller or is it just some kind of strain that the internodes are far from each other?

There is some of your problem. I have WW and I have some that go from 8in clones to 48in tall in 4 weeks with no flower. You vegged it 36in to start!!! Oh My you might want to look at putting a hole in the ceiling. LOL I think you can bend it at the top but don't quote me on it.

Check out my grow and the last pics and you will see the tall ones.

Good luck

its true they jump im doing DBB and i put my cones in and they were about 8-9 inches and a week later they were about 2 feet tall i had to hack one down it was retarded...

They look like they are really healthy, but I agree with sparkafire. I think you just vegged them to long, or let them get to tall in that time. Plants usually double, if not triple in size during flowering. If ou only had 8 ft to work with, I would have flowered them at like 2' so that you had plenty of room for the stretch. Worst case scenario, top them now, while they are only 3 weeks in and let them fill out the rest of the plant with buds. It would be drastic, but some times you have to acount for unforseen situations. I'd try tieing them down first if you have room for that in your tent.

thanks guys, any advice is more than welcome :)

ive been bending the tops down this week and its really helped to keep the height down so fingers crossed it might be ok lol

the thing is i had 4 vegging at first and needed to know wot sex they all were so i took clones from each 1 and flowered them, by the time i knew wot was wot the plant u see in the pic (the female) was like 3ft so i rushed it in quick! lol
i had pinched the plant when it was about 2ft coz it was double the size of the others and was taking over, when i pinced it 2 new branches grew like mad and thats wot all the other branches have now grown off, its got loadsa buds growing nicley now with tons of lovely white hairs :)
hopefully i will be able to keep the height down and make it to harvest.

im amazed how fast they grow, this is my first ever grow i just went out n bought 2x nft205 kits,1 for veg n 1 for flower, i use the 250hps for flower n 4 18watt flouro's for veg, beening my first grow i thought it would take a few attempts but way hey its all good haha

If you give the plants what they want then lol they grow themselves, and your right, they can sure grow fast. The first grow is always a learning exp. Glad its been a good one for you. Did you save any clones from your female, that will make it easier to get you timing right next time.

yeah i took clones before i put it in for flowering,4 of them are now in the nft tank and are doin well, this time im gonna clone them when there ready then put them in for flowering when there 2ft or so then hopefully ill be able to control them a bit more lol

If height is a continuing issue, you might consider doing a scrog. This is how I'm gonna do my next grow, and it is a great way to maximize yield, without adding more plants.

I had the same thing happen to me except i'm another week into flowering than you are. Mine are getting close to 6'6" i flowered mine at like 30" and it was at 42" in a week. hey at least we're going to have tons of really good bud. lol. its got its downside but its also got its upside.

If you are wanting all the fan leaves and branches to point up by themselves just add more lux needs at least 30,000 to 50,000 lux to convert a 400w MH gives 40,000 lumens per 1.0 cubic meter = 40,000 Lux that's 3.28 ft square box for vegging
A 400w HPS gives 50,000 Lumens per 1.0 cubic meter = 50,000 lux for 3.28ft square box so for a 7 ft by 3 ft box for flowering would only get around 20,000 lux to get more in the flower box just add some cfl's 4 20w 6500k and 8 20w 3500k or 8 four foot cool white floro tubes on the walls this will bring you back up the 30,000 lux but beware of the heat don't let the get hotter than 90 dergees this will thight buds like found in sub tropical varieties
Water at least every 2 days the faster they grow the more water they need i hopes this helps
