Hello,

My plant is 9 days old and it started to form its 2 fan leaves and my plant is running on 2; 23 Watt warm CFL's. The plant is a bagseed that I got from an OG kush bag. So far it's stem isn't too long. Maybe about 1 inch?....I keep the soil moist by spraying it about 3 times a day and I keep the lights on 24 hours the entire time. I have it in a 4 inch wide cup and about 8 inches tall (a standard cup). When do I start introducing nutes? I have Miracle Gro Indoor Plant Food Spikes for all flowering and foliage houseplants. On the back says it feeds continuously for 60 days. 6-12-6 strength. How many spikes do I put? each is about 2 inches tall. Am I doing good so far? I'll take some pics later on and post them up. I also have 4 "chronic" seeds so far that I'm germinating and hopefully I can grow those as well. Also how many lights will I need for 3-5 plants?

EDIT: The leaves seem to be curling down a little if that makes a difference? Other than that the plant looks healthy. I am growing in Scotts potting soil btw which says it has enough nutes to feed the plant for a couple of months or so.

Thanks!

First off you want daylight Cfl's for veg. Second your plant is probably going to die in that ferted soil, transplant it. Third you don't use nutes till usually 4th node.

Pics would help aloooooooott

The soil is bad? I asked before and alot of people said it was decent soil. It had plant food in it. it's regular potting soil.

Also, will the plants grow with the lights I have? or will it just cease growing till I change the lights? I don't have the time to go and buy new lights anytime soon

3-5 plants will take more lights than you have. You're stems may be bending because you need to put a fan to them. This will give the stems some wind to work with so they get stronger. You shouldn't be using Miracle Gro either. Go with something organic. It should be 2-3 weeks from planting before you need to nute. And make sure you use very little nutes at first and very gradually working up the dose. Watering 3 times a day is way too much but maybe not considering you are using a spray bottle. I don't know how much water that translates to but most plants only need to be watered once every other day.

Ah, so no miracle gro what so ever? It's not the soil, it's the nutes. I heard to not use miracle gro soil which I'm not using. I was just asking if miracle gro soil plant food spikes were any good? 6-12-6 strength

HEY, YOU DO WANT DAYLIGHT OR COOL WHITE CFL FOR VEG. I USE DAYLIGHT 6500K X 6 BULBS. YOU WANT THEM ABOUT 1-2" AWAY FROM THE TOP OF THE PLANT, ADJUST IF YOU SEE THE PLANT BURNING. TAKE OUT THE NUT SPIKE OUT LIKE NOW. JUST GIVE IT WATER AT A PH OF 7.0 FOR NOW. IF YOU HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO USE THE WARM CFL YOU SHOULD BE FINE FOR A WHILE. YOU ARE GOING TO NEED MORE THEN TWO BULBS.

Alright, I have 2 more warm bulbs. I'll try to hook those up as well. I don't have the nute spike in there yet.

EDIT: I found a spiral light bulb in my garage. It is 23 watt and the light is much brighter and has a white tint to it instead of the red tint my warm CFL's have. I exchanged the warm CFL for the brighter one...I'm assuming it's a cool one? Would it make a difference if I have 1 warm bulb and 1 cool bulb running on the same plant?

Your scotts soil may be fine but I would suggest not using any other nutrients on your seedlings period. Seedlings root system is extremely delicate. Dont over water, and how far away are the lights from them?

LOOK THE PROBLEM WITH M-GRO IS THE TIME RELEASED NUTS. IF YOU ARE USING IT, IT WILL WORK BUT IS NOT THE BEST AND YOU WILL NEED TO WATCH THE PLANTS FOR NUT BURN. AND FOR VEG YOU WANT A HIGHER N-THEN P OR K LIKE 15-5-5. I LIKE LIQUID NUTS. JUST ADD TO THE WATER. JUST FOLLOW THE DIR.
IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER ?S JUST ASK YOU ALSO WILL LEARN A LOT FROM THE GROW F&Q AND OTHER PPL JURN.

Oh, and just to be safe, pick up a couple gallons of distilled (no sodium) water and use a little bit for a few weeks. If they are showing signs of toxicity already, I would use a very neutral water and nothing else.

Do you guys think this light is cool bulb? It's a spiral bulb 23 watts and it's much brighter and has a whiter light than the warm bulbs which have kind of a red tint. If I put a warm and a cool light on the same plant at the same time, will it be fine?

IF YOU ARE IN VEG STAGE STAY WITH DAYLIGHT/COOL WHITE OR MH-
WILL YOU BE FINE IS A VAG QUESTION. THE PLANT WILL LIVE BUT WITH JUST TWO BULBS IT WILL GROW SMALL. I TRIED THE DAYLIGHT AND WARM CFL TOGETHER AND THEN TRIED WITH JUST DAYLIGHT CFL. THE DAYLIGHT DID BETTER.

Hello,

I have another question. What's the difference between the 24 hours of light vs 18 hours of light and 6 hours of darkness. Which does the plant grow faster?

I also noticed that at day 8 some people's plants have 4-5 leaves already and mine has 2 small leaves. like 1/4 an inch leaves. Is this normal?

wow.sounds EXACTLY like my plants, 8 days old. only 1set of spiked leaves with the the inner set just developing..also we use the same lights, 26w cfl's soft/warm... i believe thats the major problem, red spectrum lights help promote fruiting. but the blue tone lights from "daylight" clf's DEFF HELP PROMOTE much better root growth. faster the roots , in return the faster your plant will vegg, best of luck, keep us posted, also check out my pics, compare em, we have the same setup with the same "slow growth" outcome, i really believe its due the 2700k spectrum lights

The Big Diff. Between 24 Hours And 18 Hours. Is 6 Hours-hahah Jk

It Has Been Said That Vegg. For 24 Hrs Is The Best But Then Others Say That 18 Is. The Best Thing Is To Test The Two. And Find Out What Is The Best.
I Look It At This Way- Plants Need Time To Recover From The Day. Kind Of Like Sleeping To Process Everything. So I Vegg For 18 Hours. I Have Read Threads Where They Didn't Even Vegg At All (from A Clone) And Just Went To Flower.
