first harvesting - keep in dark?

what's the reason of keeping plants in dark before harvesting when red hairs is about of 70%?

i know it doesnt encrease THC level, but hell.. what do I have to loose?

i think of leaving her in dark for 24h

and heres my sativa plant.
this is my poorest plant with smallest buds ready for harvest.

apparently it does increase the thc. im gonna be leaving mine in 48 hours dark before i cut them down to dry

That's the rumor . . . that it increases THC in an attempt to ward off the impending death total darkness would internally signal to the ready-for-harvest plant. I don't buy it, but lots of folks do it? I'm more into heat/thirst stress just before chopping.

well i thought it was a rumour. apparently its true. i havnt tried it as this is my 1st grow but i will be doing now that ive heard it from an experienced grower that has tried and tested it.

i ask questions all the time. but that was my first and this is my last question about this grow

soon i will have another grow, though. waiting for 2 rest of my plants to harvest.

thanks! but as you can see theres no main cola... i dont think i will have even 5 grams from this plant :/

i dont really pay much attention to hair color. i use a microscope and a magnifying glass to check the tri's. the prob with going by air color alone is that you might have a strain that is mostly redish hairs to start with.

tri= trichome the sometimes white powdery looking stuff on the buds and leaves

oh. and how do you tell that plant is ready by looking at tri's? i can see them with naked eye no need to use mag glass..

If you can see the color of the gland-head that sits upon the trichome spike, and half of them are colored other than smoky/white, then your ready to go.
I think the masters all use scopes, or have.

I hung mine inside a shoe-box dried really nice but had a hint of shoe-box smell to it lol

those buds r drying now, damn theyre small... 3-4 grams maximum. thanks to god this is my smallest plant.

when grinded and the buds had a chance to rip open it smelt lush but still had that hint of smell but in a dutchie was quite a fruity taste was an unknown strain potent stone glad my freind was generous with his clones nd sorted me a few out he got them for free so no loss!
