great looking plants bro. bushy as hell. i wonder is that fyto-cell medium you are using? i have been searching and no1 seems to know how it grows. so can i assume form your grow you like using it? assuming that is the same stuff i just picked up.

Thanks for the compliment bro. I am not using fytocell, I am using perlite. I can't seem to find fytocell here in the US.

All the plants you see in my journal right now are in soil. The white in the top is just a covering of perlite over the soil to help with evaporation and light reflection.

Dude. You're falling behind on pics. bongsmilie
As has been pointed out I am behind in my journal. There is a lot going on in the op right now and if I don't catch up now it will be really hard.

Already had 5 clones.

One White Widow from a friend. It struck this morning and I have a pic to prove it.

Four main stem clones that I grew from seed in soil and cut for hydro.

1 BagseedWidow
1 White
2 BubbleGum

Yesterday morning I cut 6 more clones all from the same plant. One is still bent over but I bet it will stand up today. It really stripped her down and she is already showing signs of growing back.

Over the next 2-3 days I am going to take another pass on these.

I hope they all strike :-|, if I can get the first clone in the garden to strike I am more confident today than I have been since I cut a clone.:peace:

Everything looks great my friend, keep up the good work!!!!!!!!

I just want to ask a few ????

Where r u putting ur temastat from the heat mat, just wondering cuz i cant see it in the pics.

Are u weighing th e cubes when u are watering them?

What knid of rooting compound are u using?

How ofthen are u watering the cubes?

I tried this way of cloneing , Al.'s method, and could not get i right cuz of the way i set mine up so i moved to the aeroclone and still i cant get roots this way either. I suck at cloneing and its driving me crazy.

I do not have a temastat in my clone box and i think thats why its hard for them to root. The RH in my room is 30% and i cant get it any higher cuz i have the exsought fan runnig 24/7. I will post a few pick and mybe u can give me sum advice on what i should change.

I been keep up with ur cloneing journal and its great that u can get roots on the 1st try. When i puth my clone in RW they all wilt and dont get bak up. Who Knows...............

U have a great setup and ur doing great with ur grow

The only pics i have is the ones where i have the cloner in the box and dont have any more with the RW cubes with the clones....

I would love to help if I can.

I don't have a thermostat for the heat mat. I was going to get one but after measuring the temps that it generated I didn't need one. It must have an internal stat as it stays at about 86-88F.

Are u weighing the cubes when u are watering them?

- Styl!st
Not with a scale or anything. I soak the cubes in Phed water and then snap the excess water out of the cube with a flick of my wrist as described by Al B Fuct and I can tell by feel how dry the cubes are.

What kind of rooting compound are u using?

- Styl!st
Rootex 30 powder

How often are u watering the cubes?

- Styl!st
Twice per day, once in the morning and then again before bedtime. I just dip the corner of each cube in the tray of Phed water that you see inside the box. The small fan inside the clonebox runs all the time to keep the heat constant and it dries out the cubes pretty quickly. You must use wrapped cubes. When I was using unwrapped cubes I had to water them 4-5 times a day and that is too intensive. I even went so far as to wrap the naked cubes I was using with saran wrap and it worked just like the store wrapped cubes.

When i put my clone in RW they all wilt and dont get bak up. Who Knows...............

Almost all of the clones that I have taken so far wilted the first 24 hrs then they stood up and look good. Make sure that you are using a really sharp blade to cut with, don't use scissors as they pinch off the xylem, or the tubes that carry water and nutrients up the stem.

The RH in my op never gets over about 25-35% I think that the low humidity helps the room a great deal. Molds, fungus, bugs and whatnot all love high humidity conditions. If I had a choice of an extra day or two to finish, or disease and pestilence, I'll take an extra day or two anytime.

I hope that helped even if just a little. This particular process is pretty new to me. The last time I took clones they set in RW in a tray on a heater with Olivias about 1/2" deep in the tray. If I remember right it took about a month to get roots that way.

I have eleven clones right now and am going to take another pass maybe today. I hope to have my flowering table running toot sweet.bongsmilie

This morning I had a second clone strike!!! That makes me really confident that I am on the right track. This clone struck on its 8th day. Since these are the very first victims, I am going to assume (hope) that the next batch that I cut will be even faster since I was fiddling around with conditions, and now conditions are rock solid.

I also cut back the bottom set of fan leaves on the batch of clones that I cut 2 day ago. I cut them for space reasons not any kind of growing reason. I don't think this hurts them too bad, but I don't think this really helps either. I think the triangle effect is cool.

Here are a couple of the clone box after trimming fans and tightening up to leave room for the next pass.

These girls are next.

I forgot to say something about this styl!st.

You really should have a Tstat in that tent. I think the conditions inside the box have everything to do with success in cloning.

That ductstat that I use came from Home Depot for $21. It will drive up to a 5A/600W fan, by just plugging it in. I even took the thermistor out of the unit and put it on a remote lead so that I could put it exactly where I want it. It works really well to, it keeps my clonebox 84.5-86F without fail.

That is a really cool tent setup by the way:mrgreen:.

Keep studying and working on it and we will all be tokin.

Weed Baron,

I'm having a hell of a time getting my ductstat to cycle with the thermistor inside the box. Did you have the same problem before you set it up for remote sensing?

Shit is looking good!

Yes I did. It seemed to take too long to respond to temp changes.

When I took it out of the case it made it the perfect stat. Well not perfect, as I had to use a separate thermometer to keep tabs on the temp.

If you notice there are two probes attached to the red fuzzy tie in the clonebox. I just used the outside probe on an indoor outdoor min/max thermometer.

It was kind of fiddly to set up as well. I used a twist tie to connect the two probes and waited till the box came to the highest temp I wanted, and then rotated the adjustment knob till it came on.

Seems kind of weird but it must be set on heat to work right. That comes from its real application. When the furnace kicks on it starts the booster fan.

The selector switch should be set to min.

Mine keeps the temp to within about 1c.

Thanks man. I'm getting out the soldering iron and trying again tomorrow. I had been trying to use it on the "cool" setting. :wall:

Yeah it doesn't seem right, but it is. I spent about four days running tests with this unit before I had everything figured out.

You take the time to figure shit out, I just throw it back in the box after 5 minutes of fumbling around.

So when i buy this stat from Home depot what all do i need to get from there. Is the remote lead seperate from the stat?

$21 dollars ant bad for a temostat, i need to check it out and put it to use in my tint.

Thanx bro, I got it from cheaphydroponics.com and it was only $100 bones. I have to keep my flower room and clone box in a tent cuz I still rent at the moment. My be sum day i will get a nice crib to put all my lil babies inn. Oh yeah , i cant forget about the wify too.

One day I will have perpetual grow like urs  , and be able to have a SoG in my tent, but 1st i need to get this RW thing down.

I hate RW ,by the way, i cant get seed to sprout or get any roots ,from clones, to grow in this shitty RW. I think im making it more harder than it really is. With seeds once i put them in the RW, after in germ. them in a paper towel, they just stop all growing. Who Knows................

Sorry to cry on ur shoulder but i have my problems, but i will get, Sumday

Thanx for responding so quick and for all the info, I ll be here till the end

PS - I changed my clone box to the way u and Al's (RIP) way of cloning. Lets see how they turn out.........................

The remote lead is home made man. I just used some thin wire and soldered it to the Tstat board where I took out the Thermistor. Then soldered the thermistor to the end of the lead and used shrink tubing to seal it up. Thermistors don't care which way they are connected.

So in order to make it remote sensing you will have to solder or take it to someone who can.

I think it would work without it, but when I showed Al B (RIP) he said to get it down where the plants are, and it is kind of clunky.

My clone box is small and it took up a bunch of room. With all that in mind I decided to try it.

After getting it working in my clone box I got one for my flower chamber too. It comes on at 79F and will keep the ladies cool.

That is if I ever get that flowering chamber running.:weed:

But I will, and so will you.

We'll just keep working and learning, and we will all be:fire::fire:
