my pepper plant looks way over fertilized, i wonder if my ec pen is accurate right now i should be at .7 ec

I think i found the issue (i hope)
While looking around i found a pattern in which the leaves in the shade had much less symptoms which leads me to believe that my issue is heat and low humidity.
I removed some leaves and found a branch that was growing between the wall and the nutrient tank and it's leaves are nice and green
Must have something to do with it

so i popped off my 600w hps bulb and put my 400w back in while raising my light to the ceiling

First harvest, should have Shown signs and symptoms if it was a deficiency

my rh was around 55 with temps around 24 c lights on ( that's not under the light i will take more readings as under the light it's probably around 45 %)

I would definitely say your lights are incredibly powerful for vegetables. I'm willing to bet the problem is photo inhibition. Too strong of a light! Most vegetables are happy in the 300-400umol range. Heat could be an issue, but it looks like your lights are pretty far away from the plants for this to be too much of an issue.

i have reduced to 400w well see how it looks on Monday. Now the temps are down to 23 c with rh raised to 61% this should give a vpd in range

Do you know what the par/umol is at the plants?
i don't know. I think the most important thing to measure right now is the vpd and not really the amount of light plants get since the limiting factor in the photosynthetic yield is the amount of Carbon they can get from the air. So they can't get too much light but they can transpire too much because of the heat of the light and low relative humidity caused by that heat. So measuring the amount of par they get would tell me if they get enough light but not if they get too much light

Let's say your cmh light produces around 800 umol. At this output it will give your plants a DLI of 35 mol in a 12 light cycle. In a 18 hour light cycle the DLI is 52 mol. During summer under a clear sky, our sun delivers a maximum DLI of around 65 mol.
Your HPS light probably delivered 46-70 DLI.

Cucumbers are light hungry plants, they like around 30 DLI to be happy.
When the maximum DLI of a plant is exceeded, the plant goes into photo inhibition. This is the point when the plant spends more energy shedding excess light instead of growing.

The fact that your plants are healthier in shady areas inside your tent compared to directly under the light leads me to believe that your plants simply get too much light.

Here in the southwestern USA our RH often drops into the single digits outdoors, indoors our RH is mostly around 30%. Our indoor garden crops do fine with this low humidity, so do our outdoor crops.

You're not growing cannabis , I would not overthink co2, heat and vpd.

Everything is doing better now. Cucumbers have stopped showing new deficiency symptoms and i have around 4 cucumbers on the way.

Peppers have flower coming soon and 2-3 tomatoes have pollinated. The only problem is that my tomatoes got a bad weekend when i was away one branch tore off almost completely and it caused edema on the rest of the plant. Lest hope they pull through otherwise I'll just replace them with another pepper plant

thanks for your input i might buy a 250w bulb and drop that power again. Or i could use a 150w led light i have laying around but that might be too little. I just read that peppers and tomatoes are shade plants like thea and cocoa. one other problem is the different needs in watering between my plants.

I would make sure the LED has a nice full spectrum for the garden.
not sure bout that, it's got alot of blue light it's a cheap mars hydro....but we'll see for sure i would be surprised that 250w would be too much light. Here are pics of my pepper leaves.They too have oedema but they are not too bad so far i will be hand watering otherwise my cucumbers do not get enough water if my irrigation pump is turned down.

Since i turned down to 400w i can see clear improvement in the cucumbers which leads me to believe you are right. I have around 6 cucumbers soon to be harvested

Yeah i think light wasn't my issue... it seems like fruits are harder to grow than flowers but that was anticipated. So today i harvested my last cucumbers ( got around 15 total) and I removed the tomatoes and cucumber plants. Tomatoes had so much edema from lowering the light intensity that no sap was getting through to the fruits and they didn't evolve for a few weeks . Cucumbers didn't get better after all but they didn't get edema so i got to harvest some.

Now i have peppers which i transplanted to HP PROMIX yesterday. The plant in coco is looking bad from edema but has a ton of peppers and flowers growing it's kinda ridiculous to see, i transplanted it to a 5 gallon pot and the rest of the plants are in 2 gallons/3 gallons pots. The smaller leftover plants were doing good in soil but no flowers yet. I think everything is going to be fine from now on i turned back the power to 400w and added a bigger fan to keep that air moving across leaf surfaces.

I should have went with soil or promix from the get go. My ph pen not working properly did not help and that might have something to do with all of the issues. Growing all kind of different plants on the same pump didn't help either because of different irrigation needs and nutrients requirements.

So overall i learnt from my mistakes and will continue to learn until summer is here and who knows, i might be able to transplant my peppers outside this spring.
